5.0 out of 5 stars note to GA mom, July 12, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Stuck (Audio CD)
I have to reply to the mother writing from Georgia. You must be living in space if you think a truly Christian girl would never get caught up emotionally with a boy she likes enough to make her not feel like getting up in the morning. When people are caught in an emotionally destructive relationship and they just have gotten out, it is a hard road back to sanity, and with God's help it happens faster, because he helps us keep on the straight path and make smart decisions. Just because Stacie is torn up over a boy doesn't mean she is less Christian, it means she is more human. At least she is "genuine" about her emotions. Come on, Give her a break, she is trying to be human and Christian at the same time. And, she relates to all the silly girls out there who do get into bad relationships.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great First Pop Single, September 23, 2003

This is a great song from the very talented Stacie Orrico. I bought this singel mainly for the remixes and the reason I am giving this singel 4 stars is becasue the second version sounds almost exactly like the first. The only real remix is number 3 which has a thunderpuss version that will keep you on your feet although only for 3:02 becasue that is how long it is. Also do not count on getting her second single more to life here. The 4th and 5th tracks are only snippets clocking in at less than a minute each. Hope this review was helpful to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stuck, July 4, 2003

Although Christian music fans are very familiar with 17-year-old Stacie Orrico, who scored one of the most successful Christian albums ever with her 2000 debut Genuine, mainstream America has yet to take notice of this young lady. But her explosive first single, "Stuck", will change all that. Produced by Dallas Austin, known for crafting smash hits for TLC and Monica, the song is more in the veins of Michelle Branch or maybe even (cringe) Avril Lavigne with its heavy pop-rock influences. And, of course, the theme of conflicted teenage romance is always thrilling, so what's not to like about "Stuck?"

4.0 out of 5 stars Well grounded pop star with a stunning voice, September 30, 2004

In an age when female pop stars are being forcibly made to act and dress far beyond their years, it's refreshing to find a girl in her teens making mainstream music about topics that are appropriate to her age and keeping her clothes on. Stacie Orrico is that wonderful `new' talent that we can only hope is beginning of a new trend. I put `new' in quotes because the 18-year old songbird has been a commercial singer since the tender age of 14 in the Christian music industry. Her affiliation with Christian music may account for some of her conservativeness, but she's still her own person who makes her own choices, and she wouldn't be the first purportedly devoutly religious female singer to start singing raunchy tunes while half-naked (Beyonce is a good example of that). Fortunately, so far, Stacie seems to have a great deal of respect for herself and understands the message she's sending

Stacie's self-titled album has already has released a few singles that are starting to see appreciable airplay on mainstream pop radio stations. Her first single, "Stuck", is a wonderful example of a good song that is sung about subjects appropriate for a high school girl (unlike someone like the appalling Jojo, who is only 13 and singing about kicking cheating boyfriends to the curb). "Stuck" is the classic yarn about a girl who is hung up and being led on by one of the popular guys who sees her more of a trophy and doesn't treat her very well. Her scorching chorus, "I Hate You, but I Love you. I can't stop thinking of you" speaks the words and is imbued with the emotion that many teenagers have felt in the stressful relationship game. More than even the words, though, it's Stacie's outstanding vocal talent that makes this song soar (as well the others on her album). "Stuck" reveals a nuanced and powerful vocal range that can fit comfortably in many different musical genres from R & B to Pop to Gospel. The strength and message of this song just hints at tip of the iceberg of this extraordinary talent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing ... pop to bring you back to that trash filled genre, November 14, 2003

well, i know 3 of the 5 songs on here, Album mix, Thunderpuss, and (i think) More To Life. (the CDM i have has Bounce Back and Until I Find You, neither of which i like; i'd rather have this one)

this song grabbed me by the ears and dragged me back to the world of pop music i've been avoiding for the last half year or so since Jewel's Intuition single. it's very catchy, and i love it for no particular reason, other than it sounds good. (at least More To Life is a good song with some positive/hopeful lyrics, but this... is just good and i don't know why)

not only that, but of all the CDSingles that average to be around $8, this is the only CD that i'd pay that amount for, however this is less than a combo meal ANYWHERE these days. especially if More to Life is the album version...
