Not great, but some use,

Not a great helping book for writing biology research papers. I prefer "A short guide to writing about biology," by Jan A. Pachnik. Much better examples and tips for ideal writing methods. This book by Knisely recommends writing structure with poor usage and voice. Doesn't promote ease of reading or how to organize your paper initially. Go with the Pachnik book and you'll write better papers. I also recommend visiting your writing center if your school has one. They can help.

This is pretty detailed and gives good examples of what should be done and how it should be done. I received an excellent copy and it was in better condition than described.

I have found that this book was very helpful in helping me fulfill the requirements that my professor expected. I found it very easy to read and understand. This book is a great tool to assist you in writing in a scientific format for biology or any science class.

Bought this for my bio lab class to help with lab-report write-ups. A great book, really gives you a great insight into writing papers, from lab-reports, to official research publications. Strongly Recommend!

This book lists everything you need to include in your presentations, essays, lab reports. I was one of the few people in my classes that had this book. I felt like I had a huge advantage over other students without the book, because I'd always feel I was prepared for my presentations. I was extra confident handing in my papers too. Every science student should use this book to write their papers! It will definitely help!

Not bad but unnecessary for most,

Don't buy this just because your professor deems it necessary, find a copy in the local bookstore and take a look first. It told me very little that I did not already know (from say, high school). It's certainly not a bad book, but it's unlikely to actually help fulfill your class requirements. As for writing a better research paper, resources on campus (professors, writing tutors etc.) are going to be much more helpful. I just can't see anyone truly needing this.

This book is an awesome resource. Whether you are in highschool or college it is simply enough to understand yet complex enough to help you write a college research paper.
