A friend of mine has this Bible which I barowed before and I have to say it's a really neat Bible. It's not just for teenagers but college as well but it's geard a bit more towards teenagers. To say the least there really isn't any NLT Bibles for college students (which I happen to be) as this Bible is geared a bit more towards teenagers, but it certaintly works good for young college students. I highly recommend the New Living Translation for anyone who wants a readable and use to understand Bible that's not a paraphrase but a translation that actually uses the originally texts as it's basis. This Bible gets my stamp approval!

I bought this Bible for myself when I was just out of high school. I enjoyed all its features, but found that it really didn't go deep enough. The notes tend to be more superficial and less deep application. Later on I gave the Bible to my sister who has yet to start high school, and as far as I know she's enjoyed it. If you're looking for something really deep, this is not what you're looking for. It is probably suited better for younger high schoolers.

I bought this Bible as a gift to a teen-ager, then after reading a few of the notes, I fell in love and bought one for myself.

This bible is awesome. It gives you interpretations of the verses and definitions. It is a wonderful tool to have for bible study.

WE GAVE THIS BIBLE TO OUR GRANDSON WHO IS TAKING A CLASS IN SCHOOL. HE IS CERTAIN THAT THIS BIBLE WILL BE A HUGE ASSET TO HIS CLASS.

Back in September I purchased a NCV Revolve Bible, it was great and all but NCV was a little too dumbed down for me. Also, a girl I was originally friends with had the same Bible, I felt like I was copying her and now that we weren't getting along, having the same Bible as her reminded me of how our friendship went sour in the matter of only a month. So I went searching for another Bible.

I found this. At first I was reluctant to get it because it was NLT...but when I read some of it, I realized it sounded way better than NCV.

I like how this Bible also has the silver gilded edges.

I love how the Bible is not as heavy as my Revolve Bible. But there are some downsides. The white ribbon easily tore apart, so I had to cut it off. But I found out how I could add ribbons. You just glue it into the binding. So now I have 3 ribbons.

I also don't like how the interior is green. I was thinking that because this Bible was pink, it would have a cute color as the interior. But it was dark green.

I also don't like how the Bible is gender neutral (not the scriptures, but the Life Application content).

But as another reviewer said, this Bible could be used for college students. I am 20 years old, and many things in this Bible apply to me.

Overall, its a great Bible.

I always love this translation, but there aren't as many notes as the real NLT study bible, which is a little bit of a disappointment. But the teenager-targeted passages are very helpful. I wish the pages are not that flimsy. and the layout is a little unorganized.

I was excited about getting this Bible for my daughter for her 7th grade Bible class at school. After it arrived, I asked the principal and teacher if anyone had actually read this Bible before putting it on the book list. Turns out neither had seen this version. The translation has been around a long time and it is a good one for kids. This particular edition has all these "stories" which are quite "edgy" I guess. They do not apply to my daughter's life and I do not appreciate her being exposed to these things, which are quite foreign to her, while innocently picking up a Bible. I resent worrying about what is in my daughter's Bible, that's a thought I should never have to entertain! This Bible has stories about sex, pregnancy, cutting, stealing, you name it. I am very disappointed, and this version is going to the thrift store. I hope with God's grace it will find a home with someone who can relate to and benefit from these topics.

It seems wrong to give the Bible less than five stars in any context, but since I am reviewing this specific version, the three stars refer to this book, these stories and topics. I'd actually like to give it zero stars because these particular topics have made it useless to me. A waste of money. I will buy a more appropriate version (same translation) for my child.
