Book Description

0932766544 978-0932766540 July 2000
A whole alternative historical geology is presented in this book. The ruling dogmas of an old earth, slow overall geologic changes, organic evolution, the geologic column, etc., are examined and found wanting. In their place a Biblical geology is developed and defended, providing a scholarly explanation for such things as the biogeographical distribution of life, fossil succession, the origin of coal, etc., all in light of the global Noachian Deluge. Many little-known geologic facts are also brought to light. Before you conclude that whatever historical geology textbooks teach you is gospel truth, please read this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Study of Flood Geology, June 19, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Studies in Flood Geology a Compilation of Research Studies Supporting (Paperback)
I have a good amount of geological knowledge, including field experience, and I can testify to the fact that this compilation of studies is on the cutting edge of Flood geology. Although detailed, these studies show that scientific creationists do in fact perform original geologic research, contrary to the claims of critics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Invaluable Reference Work, July 5, 2001
By
Tas Walker (Brisbane, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Studies in Flood Geology a Compilation of Research Studies Supporting (Paperback)
John demonstrates in this book that Flood geology is a exceedingly rewarding model within which to correlate all the geological data. Any new paradigm that challenges mainstream academic thinking is bound to encounter criticism. But when a new idea strikes at the heart of ones personal and religious beliefs, as Flood geology does, the criticism can be harsh. All geologists would benefit by understanding the concepts developed in this book. Especially valuable would be the exercise of interpreting geological data within a wholly different framework.

A comprehensive index makes the volume especially useful. Almost any issue related to Flood geology is tackled in a sound, scientific way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Resource Book for New Ideas!, October 16, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Studies in Flood Geology a Compilation of Research Studies Supporting (Paperback)
This book is a compilation of scientific articles from various sources written by John Woodmorappe between 1978 and 1993. Many of the articles address problems and challenges that have been put forth against the Young Earth Creationist paradigm. The second edition of the book has been greatly enhanced by the inclusion of an index. All of the articles are well researched and thoroughly referenced. The articles contained within this volume help delineate problems within the Young Earth Creationist paradigm and suggest possible solutions to them. John attacks problems like radioactive dating, cyclic sedimentation, the "geologic column," the Flood, and various evolutionary issues. The articles should stimulate anyone reading them to a deeper level of thought about these issues, no matter what their perspective on earth history may be.
