After an introduction to the current theories and research findings related to brain injury rehabilitation, this text presents 20 case studies of adults who sustained severe brain damage caused by traumatic head injuries, encephalitis, stroke, hypoxia and other conditions. Case studies are one of the most vivid ways to learn a technique. Dr. Wilson brings her techniques to life with the very human descriptions of her patients while she also allows us to observe her thought processes and the scientific approach she uses to guide her unique interventions. This book will give you a flavor of how to tailor a cognitive remediation program to your client while maintaining the logic underlying presumptions of validity - to the extent that single subject studies can do so. Invaluable for integrating theory into your everyday work with individuals.
