I am NO Presbyterian - (like Warfield) - but this book contains a description of the history and development of the false doctrine of 'present sinless perfectionism', WHICH (by the way) did not become a widely accepted dogma until the early 1800's. People and places will be named, and you will be shocked by what you read. He is also a good writer, lively, and will hold your attention. This issue ties in directly with the never ending debate about Eternal Security vs. Probationism. You will never meet a "perfectionist" that believes in ETERNAL SECURITY. If you can afford it - BUY IT - you do The Church and yourself a favor if you do. just ANOTHER Christian (author of THE GREAT DREAM). |
