About the Author
Govindagopal Mukhopadhyaya (born 1918) graduated from Calcutta University with first honours in Sanskrit. He later on joined the Banaras Hindu University as a research scholar. Dr. Gopinath Kaviraj guided him in his researches and after completing his theses, he was awarded Ph. D. by Calcutta University. Author of many research publications, English and Bengali books on philosophical subjects, he worked as a Professor of Sanskrit, Sanskrit College Calcutta, Banaras Hindu University and finally retired as Professor and Head of the Dept. of Sanskrit, Burdwan University.
