Works well. It's costly to get higher lumen CFL or LED bulbs, so stack up 4 of them.

If you thought CFLs or LEDs would save you money, you can use their energy efficiency to light up your room as if the sun was there !

Seriously, I don't know why this product is not sold in stores.

One light per light stand is not even close to being enough light for taking pictures. This was cheap and worked out very well. It does put more wait on your stands; and on mine they would tilt down without being tightened a lot. i used Full Spectrum Light Bulb - ALZO 45W CFL 5500K - Case of 4 - Daylight balanced - pure white light - 2800 Lumens with some Westcott 2004 32-Inch Soft Silver Umbrella and they put out a good amount of light. i own 2 and would buy more.

I bought an economical studio lighting set but the fluorescent bulbs weren't bright enough for what I needed. I use this adapter and screwed in 4 of the low wattage fluorescent bulbs and VOILA. The only drawback is if all the bulbs are loaded the whole thing is a little big for my carrying case. But for home use, fantastic!

Turned out exactly as described. Now I have lots of light for my photo/video projects.
Even though I knew while purchasing that this did not have any switches on the back to turn on/off individual bulbs, I wish it did.
