The size is perfect for cutting small pieces of paper and the cutting edge so far is working very well...very sharp and precise.

I have a wonderful professional trimmer I usually use, but I wanted something a little bigger than my small personal trimmer to keep at my desk and to travel with me. This guillotine trimmer is a good one, in that it trims very well, without ragged edges. I only fault it for its narrow bed. It won't allow you to measure more than 4 3/4 inches, and to perfectly divide a sheet of 8.5 x 11", you need a 5 1/2" measurement. So buy the bigger one, unless you just want it for trimming small pieces of paper, or for travel. You can still carry a ruler with you and make a mark, but I find that irritating, when I have other instruments that will do the same thing, so I will still carry my Fiskars trimmer to classes, since it has the pull-out ruler, allowing measurements up to a 12" piece of paper!

As simple as this product may seem, I mean it is only a paper trimmer, it has a learning curve. Probably the first time you cut a piece of paper with this one you will not have a perfect straight cut, but with time and a little practice, you will be cutting like a pro. Be careful of the size, it will not cut a piece of paper in half by the longest side. I use it to cut pictures, cards and other stuff and so far, does a great job.

This is the neatest little cutter. Very sharp and precise. Great for cutting 4 x 6 photos. The only thing is that you must disassemble the back of the cutter (a few screws) and put a weighted item in it so when you lift the handle, it sets firmly on the desktop. I was trying to think of what I could use to weight it down and it came to me. I had a box full of change (coins) and put them in it. It worked out great!!!! Stays in place anytime I use it and a great way to save your money! I would recommend this product to everyone!

i really wanted this to be awesome, it's small, easy to store, and lightweight.

it was not so awesome.

after 5 sheets of paper (plain copy paper) it would only bend the sheets, it would no longer cut them.

it's headed back to amazon tomorrow for a refund.

I first saw this paper cutter in action during a card making class. I just had to have one. The size is perfect for cutting small pieces of paper and the cutting edge so far is working very well...very sharp and precise. I have other paper cutters/trimmers for large 12"x12" paper, but this small accurate cutter is great for smaller pieces of paper. It is worth the price.

Excellent! One of the best paper trimmers I have ever used. Precise straight, sharp cuts and measured grid to allow precise cut to size. Clear plastic guard to ensure safe and easy placement of paper, easy to slide razor-sharp trimmer for neat trim.

It's light duty for on the go crafters.

Great for adults to teach mature responsible children about safety and the dangers of such a product, but they still should only be allowed to use it while being monitored by a guillotine product knowledgeable adult so the kids too can become crafters, safely. It's also a great way to bond, and showing them you approve of their developing responsible behavior as you pass down your crafting skills to them.

I own a few professional guillotine trimmers, but when it comes to low cost, respectable accuracy with square cuts, portability, and being light weight--you really don't need to look any further because it's that we'll made for its class. It's hard to imagine why a crafter could not put this small trimmer to smart and handy use. Buy it and enjoy it just as it was designed to do. You'll get your low cost investment out of it long before you'll need to replace it as it's most definitely a crafter's little buddy for light duty jobs...

I almost forgot to mention, and before you open your purchase, don't forget to plan to use the heavy gauge plastic clam shell container that your trimmer comes in because it makes a great suitcase to store the trimmer and carry it around. Here's how to do it: Carefully cut the crimp marks off on three sides, and that's the top (where the carrying handle is), and then both of the longer L & R sides, but DON'T cut off the bottom crimps because that area becomes the hinge to make the suitcase, and now you can remove and return your trimmer to the suitcase as needed. You can tape or get a couple large 7" rubber bands to make sure the suitcase stays closed due to the blade. I believe, though, a bungee cord holds up much better.

Cuts through several sheets easily, quickly and neatly. Lightweight and portable which is a huge bonus when I need to move it from one location to another. Very satisfied! Thanks.
