5.0 out of 5 stars Great book
This math book helped me get into calculus without much of a mathematical background. I messed around in high school too much :p. For three months I intensely studied this book - I nearly answered all the question. I bought the answer guide to help me see what I was doing wrong. The book is easy to read and understand; all the steps are explained in an orderly manner. If...

If you get stuck, try reading the chapter again, you might have missed a critical part of the puzzle.

Many wonderful long night hours with this book. It's hard enough to keep your attention and make you want to strive to improve.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book to prepare for calculus!!, September 4, 2008
I had this textbook for my precalculus class, almost never attended the clas, but got all A's on the test and A final grade -- all thanks to this book. You literally don't need a teacher, or any other sources, even if you not a science person, you will be able to understand the concepts. It has a lot of sample problems solved in each section, and then at the end of each section, the problems are listed from very simple to moderate to high difficulty. So once you will solve the simple problems, that will give you ability to solve moderate problems, and then difficult ones from there...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Investment, January 11, 2009
This review is from: Study Guide for Algebra And Trigonometry, Second Edition (Paperback)
I recommend this book as a quick review of Trig or as extra help along with the textbook for those learning Trig. This book impressed me because it is straightforward and easy to follow. I am terrible at math and I always make dumb mistakes, but this book has all the answers worked out. I used to sit there for hours trying to figure out why I was getting all the answers wrong when I thought I understood how to do the problems. After I bought this book, I was able to see what my mistakes were and correct them within seconds of doing the problem. You might still need help from a person occasionally if you're confused about something in the book, but for the most part this book is better than a tutor because it is more efficient. Instead of waiting for someone else to figure out what your mistakes are, you can just compare your work to the book's!

If you're great at math this book is a great review book because it goes quickly through the essentials in an organized fashion. There is no fluff. If you're trying to cram, it tells you what's most important.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good text for online class., June 30, 2008
I'm using this book in an online trig class. Despite the lack of class instruction I'm able to move along by reading the text and doing the problems. It's a little wordy at times, but, as I'm learning in the online class, math can be a difficult subject to express in words alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book review, February 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
On the sellers end, I bought the book and received it within a week so that was excellent turn around time. He/she gets 5 stars for their part. Thanks so much. About the book, it doesn't match up with the book I bought it for although the title and author are the same. My mix up - I thought it was the right one. Maybe I could have asked what edition it was for...? My bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars ordered as class textbook for catholic school, December 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
order was filled and shipped on time, and arrived in excellent condition, not bent or torn or anything. Would never order or read or use unless as a textbook, but I ordered it as a class textbook and the amazon experience was flawless.
this is NOT an international version, and other sites TRY to trick you into thinking you're ordering the US version, but then actually ship an international version - not with amazon. AND the price was the best price for the full hardcover text of the US version.
