About the Author

Dr. Janell Carroll received her Ph.D. in human sexuality education from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989. She teaches in the psychology department at the University of Hartford in Connecticut, is an AASECT-certified sexuality educator, and has received numerous awards for her teaching and work in the field of human sexuality. In 2005, the University of Hartford recognized her with the Gordon Clark Ramsey Award for Creative Excellence, given to professors who demonstrate sustained excellence and creativity in the classroom. Carroll has also been recognized by Planned Parenthood as a Sexuality Educator of the Year. Prior to teaching at University of Hartford, Dr. Carroll was a tenured psychology professor at Baker University, where she was honored with awards for Professor of the Year and Most Outstanding Person on Campus. A dynamic educator, speaker, and author, Dr. Carroll has also hosted two of her own radio talk shows about on sexuality and appeared as an expert on numerous television talk shows and networks. Format: Paperback
This was one of the worst books for school I have ever read. She contradicts herself numerous times. Instead of giving a third party lecture on all the issues in the book she gives her opinion as well which I don't like. HATED IT!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Janell Carroll is on the faculty of the psychology department at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut. She is a sexologist, author, and researcher. Dr. Carroll's research has been published in a variety of national and international journals and she has presented her research at meetings and symposiums around the world. Her research interests include human sexuality, women's issues, gender, child development, & sex education. Dr. Carroll has been exploring cross-cultural sexuality and has traveled to a variety of countries to learn more about how culture affects sexual behavior, attitudes, and practices.

Dr. Carroll has authored several books, including a highly acclaimed college-level sexuality textbook entitled Sexuality Now: Embracing Diversity and a popular book for young women entitled The Day Aunt Flo Comes To Visit: An Honest Conversation About Getting Your Period.

Dr. Carroll also hosts her own blog and website at www.drjanellcarroll.com.
