This is a wonderful book for a college level exploration of Human Genetics. The chapters introduce every topic well, and in such a way that science majors will remain interested while non science majors aren't left behind. It is a great book to begin to explore the wonders of Human Genetics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book on genetics, May 3, 1999
This book effectively conveys interesting, detailed material without confusing the reader. It is not the typical staugy textbook that we college students are so use to as this book made me want to read it, it was so enjoyable. I recommend it to all college students or anyone interested in genetics that would like to understand our genetic principles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy required read, September 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a required text for my genetics class, however I feel like it's my easiest read for the semester. The author does a good job of providing clinical case studies related to concepts covered in each chapter and has excellent summary tables and figures. Also, the additional online questions are an excellent study aid. This book is expensive for the actual size but amazon had the best deal around.

4.0 out of 5 stars Human Heredity: Not a bad piece of work, February 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Human Heredity is a straightforward text to the understanding of Genetics. Each chapter has an end of chapter discussion on the ethics of Genetics, challenging the perception that Genetics research is nonethical pursuits of science of the ivory tower.

Understanding the various elements of Genetics is really difficult, and the book is easily set up to go back and read confusing elements. The textbook did not help me understand pedigrees, they're still a confusing jumble of squares and circles, and the section on chi squares was extremely confusing.

I don't have experience with other Genetics textbooks, so take my review with that in mind. Thank you!
