Anyone who is stressing over the NET test needs to buy this book-ASAP! The book provides several practice tests for the math and reading comprehension sections. It also provides sections that thouroughly go through every type of math problem, and every type of comprehension problem. The practice tests are set up just the way the actual test is and the level of difficulty is the same as well. The only thing that you need to watch out for is the fact that the book only provides 20 practice questions for the reading comp. I just took the test and mine had 33 problems. So, just factor that in while you are doing the comp. practice tests and you will be just fine. This book helped me to walk into the NET test with confidence and to pass it with flying colors. If you buy this book, read it carefully and do the practice tests several times, you will be more than prepared for this exam. THIS IS A GREAT GUIDE!!!!

After taking the NET I found this book helped me with the math portion but not with the reading portion. The reading portion of the actual exam was much harder than in the book. If you need to brush up on your math skills, this book is excellent for that. But make sure you prepare for the reading on your own. (Inferences, predicting outcomes, etc.) The guide book is very expensive for the size, but if it helps you it's worth the money.

This guide provides a rally good math review section, the English Comprehension section was ok-but left me wanting more. On the actual exam, I had 33 questions and a time limit of 30 minutes. So you have to practice timing yourself on the practice quizzes. I also found the practic quizzes easier than the actual exam, but that's the luck of the draw. (some of it may have been stress related b/c of the time limit)
Overall, I would still get this because I would have done horribly without the refreshers.

I checked this book out of my college library and I'm glad I did. I would not want to waste the money. Why? Because the NET consists of grammar, reading comprehension, and math, and I know those subjects pretty well. This book explains what will be on the test and offers two practice tests, which I liked. But to spend $30 on a very slim book just to review things I already know isn't a bargain, especially when I will never use it again. If you're not very good in these subjects, then this book will probably be a lifesaver for you, though.

The material is explained in an easy-to-understand way, which is a plus, and the first chapter is what the NET is like, so that was handy to read, so I know what to expect.

I was annoyed buying this small study guide (2nd edition) at my college book store for $36 but it was worth it. The author of the study guide also writes the actual NET exam so all the practice tests are modeled after the real test. Although I did use other books to practice/review math concepts I think this study guide is the best thing to help you prepare for the actual entrance exam. The guide is not very big only 168 pages but it will give very good insight to how you will perform and your areas of weakness. For example the practice math exams are set up: basic math 12 questions, decimals 8 questions, fractions 8 questions,percents 8 questions,conversions 16 questions, and algebra expressions 8 questions. The real exam had the EXACT same lay out and EXACT same number/type of questions per section as the study guide practice exams! This study guide also covered reading comprehension and some basic test taking strategies.

I found this book to be a good preparation for the NET, although my test didn't have any grammar questions at all on it. When you do the 2 practice exams, SET A TIMER. If there are 30 questions, set a timer for 30 minutes. That is how the exam works, and you need to practice under real-world conditions. There weren't any surprises at all on the NET, but be warned that the reading comprehension questions are as tricky as everyone says they are. You can also take an 85-minute practice exam on their website, [...], which I found very helpful. Again, there were grammar questions on it, but my NET didn't have any grammar questions. But the practice exam, which costs $[...], is worth it for the math and reading portions. To sum up: buy the book, read it, do the practice exams (timed), and take the online practice exam if possible. Even if you only use the book, there won't be any surprises on the test.

The book was horrible it had no science and the math was ok. I felt that it was a general book not specifically for the hobet test. I would not recommend or every buy again for this author.

This book was not quite what I thought it would be. Probably could have done without it.

This product was well described and priced very low. I couldn't buy the book locally for the price + shipping i paid over amazon. The book was shipped exceptionally fast and was a great read. If anyone is wondering why use amazon, the answer is clear. Great books at great prices delivered to your door.

This is seriously the dumbest book I ever bought. I feel so lame for buying this book. I could of spent my money on a 40oz of Schlitz Malt Liquor, had $28 dollars left over, and still been bettered prepared for the NET test. The NET test is really easy so I don't think that you would need this anyway; but if you still want to be lame like I was and buy this book I will give it to you for free plus S+H.
