I have often been frustrated by "study guides," left with the feeling that I didn't really get value for my money . . . the same can not be said for this study guide. Answers are given at the back, but more important the answers come with rationals that help to truly "OWN" the concept. Buy it or wish you had later.

Some of the questions in here are outrageous compared to what I read in the textbook. Stuff that was stated in only a sentence or two in the textbook would have really in depth questions in this study guide. I only use the multiple choice questions. The rest is kind of useless for me because we don't have anything other than multiple choice on our tests in class. A lot of times I don't even bother using this.

I started to use this by using the labeling diagrams. The labeling lines don't point to the correct areas. The are too long or too short. Mosby needs to hire some good proofreaders.

Also, there are word searches. Who has time to do a word search when all you really want to do is state the term being described. You know it but now you have to find it in a puzzle. Hmmmm. Maybe if the had a Sudoku puzzle to help me learn lab values.

I put this book in the "waste of time and money" pile.

I bought this book for my first semester of an ADN. I have discovered quite a few helpful nuggets of information that have been very helpful for my studies. I recommend this book be bought early on and used often, its been good to me so far!

Item received in excellent condition and as described. This is a great item to have to go with the book. It helps you prepare for tests and understand logic to the questions.

Awesome guide in understanding the chapters and perfecting your nclex taking skills. Gives you the chapter in form of questions and quizzes with the answers in the back. Definitely worth buying if you are using the full size or companion edition of this book, whether it's the 7th or 8th edition.

the questions were great, but i feel like they were almost the same questions that were found in the cd that came with the textbook, and the textbook's website. sorry to say but if i had accessed the website first, i probably wouldn't have bought this book.
however, if you want to take some questions with you on your morning commute, this probably wouldn't be a bad purchase.

It is required by my nursing program, so I can't compare it to anything else. What I can say is this: Even at a good four inches of very thin paper with smallish print, the information is best supplemented with journal articles on the specific topics. Like any text book, it is a good overview and summary. I do like how the information is cross referenced, for example, there is usually a section at the end of each topic about older adults, and in the chapter dedicated to older adults, a table is included to send you to those sections in the rest of the book. "Evolve" is less buggy and much more useful this semester than last, on a side note. This is especially useful because even my big Thinkpad weighs less than this book, so I do not have to carry it anywhere.

i LOVE this! it helped me alot in nursing school. I would read the chapter and then work a couple worksheets and it helped me learn the material easier!I would recommend it !

I highly recommend this study guide for nursing students in med/surg. It helps to direct learning and the case studies are good practice.
