You need this study guide,
This review is from: Study Guide for Microbiology: An Introduction (Paperback)
It condenses the information into what you really need. It is great for preparation for tests. I used this instead of the text book. With this I received an A in my Microbiology class.

I ended up not using this very much for my class. The reviews in the textbook are much more helpful than the study guide.

If your professor does much critical thinking, you wouldn't really need this book. However, for self study, this book is really helpful.

I usually never opt for the study guide with books, this was required by my school. Very helpful. It condenses all the info of 15 pages into 4 for review and makes it easier to find for the study questions. Micro requires 3 different sources to make a complete picture. If you are only reading the textbook you will miss important info in the study guide.

Useful or not depends on how your professor teaches the class.,
This review is from: Study Guide for Microbiology: An Introduction (Paperback)
If your professor ask conceptive question, then this book is not that useful. But if he teaches and tests material directly from the book, then this book is for you.

I doesn't hurt, but didn't really help me either. If your instructor goes strictly by the book, will prob be great. If your textbook is mostly for reference... don't bother!

MISSING PAGES.,

This review is from: Study Guide for Microbiology: An Introduction (Paperback)
The back of the book is simply blank pages, from chapter 18 on. There are also alot of the pages missing within the other chapters. All the even pages are blank from pages 110 until page 179. This is where the pages just go blank.

It is less involved than the over produced book, but is a little under developed in the questions. They are too simplistic as compared to the actual test material.
