The guide provides lists of all the topics that you will be tested on but does not provide explanations of the terms and topics. I had to spend cosiderable time on my own researching the information needed. It would have been helpful if some of this was included in the guide. However, the practice questions were very helpful as were the explanations of the right answers.

This book was moderately helpful. I used it for the Middle School Math portion only. Overall, the problems given on the test sample in the book were not as challenging as the ones presented on the actual test. There is no information regarding how the test is evaluated so that the test taker can approach the exam as efficiently as possible. I found this especially disappointing. There was really not much more information that the free information that can be accessed at the ETS website. For the price, the book was not a particularly good value.

This book is worth the money. It lays out to topics to study and provides a practice test. I bought this book to review for the middle school math praxis and am glad I did since I wouldn't have thought to review some of the topics listed in the book. You'll need some text books and the internet to study but it's a good guide.

This book was only moderatly helpful. I disliked it because it only gave topics which might be on the test, but no information about the topics. Also, while you could check to see if your answers were right or wrong there was no way to known what your score would be. My state has a pass cutoff and I would have liked to know how close I was to it.

This study guide just gives you the format of the exam. As far as the material on the exam, this study guide is no good.

I took the 0146 Middle School test. The content outlines and highlighted topics (indicated by a star in the book) were especially helpful for identifying content that could be on the test. However, access to middle school textbooks is a must to get information needed for the test. Many of the sample test questions were more specific than the questions on the actual test. This book was worth the money.

This book is necessary for anyone preparing for this exam to get an idea of the format and the type of questions included. There is almost no explanation for the answers on the practice questions however.

I was disappointed with this book. I took the praxis ii test 0146 Middle School Content Knowledge. The math review was a complete misrepresentation of what was actually on the test. As for the other subjects, the book is basically an outline describing all the things to study, but you will need many more resources beyond this book to really study. The practice questions are a little helpful but only a handful of the study questions were on the actual test. I only remember one for sure.
If you want an outline of what to study, this is the book for you, but it won't help you pass the test.

I bought this book for the Middle School Social Studies PRAXIS. Although it had iffy reviews, I bought it anyway, and I'm so glad I did. This book does NOT have information to study, but it has an incredibly helpful outline of the possible topics on the exam. I used the outline and researched (with a textbook and online encyclopedias) basic info on the topics with which I was unfamiliar. In addition, this book provides a practice test, which gives you an idea of the scope and scale of the questions on the exam. If you're taking Middle School Social Studies, buy this book!

This study guide only offers an overview of what the test covers. Anyone who is taking the test knows this already. I was hoping it would give more information on the topics covered so I wouldn't have to research the topics myself. The practice test was helpful because after scoring, you can see what areas are weak.
