Ed Wood's "Plan 9 From Outer Space" is often credited with being the worst movie ever made but I beg to differ. At least that movie was entertaining if only to laugh at the not-so-special effects. That's more that I can say for Study Hell - it is absolutely the worst movie I have ever seen. I'd give it no stars if I could. I'm embarassed that I actually paid good money for it. With one exception the acting was terrible and the dialog was stupid. One actress was so bad I don't know how she got the part unless she's the producer's niece. My wife teases me about buying "cheesy" movies and this one's going to be hard to live down.

Braindead script. Laughable cinematography. Horrible actors (the principal looks offscreen once to check her lines). Atrocious lighting. Crackhouse bathroom audio. Middle school drama class gore. It's almost like someone gathered all their neighbors together and decided to make a movie. It's so amatuer that a member of the crew can be clearly seen walking up stairs in the background of one of the "tense" scenes. When a movie screams Mystery Science Theater 3000 within two minutes, you know it's going to be one of the worst movies you've ever scene.

The setup: A blatant ripoff of the Breakfast Club has an assortment of kids in after-school detention. Poorly supervised by a troubled teacher named Mr. Keller (close to Killer, eh?), the kids are an atrocious attempt to duplicate the original cast of Ringwold, Sheedy, Estevez, Hall, and Nelson...except every single one of the boys is a nerd and only the female, brunette, loner looks remotely like her original counterpart: Sheedy. Complete with an old creepy janitor who looks like a beat down Mr. Belvedere (he's the only guy who should ever be allowed in a movie again), this movie may as well have been entitled Breakfast Hell. Guess who the killer is?

The worst part about this movie, aside from everything, is the kid who is supposed to be Judd Nelson redux. Supposed to be tough, he comes off more like a dark-haired Napoleon Dynamite. He's so irritating, I'm sure his mother was hoping he'd be butchered mercilessly in the first five minutes.

Let me see if I can summarize this utter disaster of a movie for you. Take a few high school kids with no acting talent whatsover, combine with a few older actors with even less talent, mix with a script that could only have been written by a high school drama club freshman. What you get is one of the worst things yet put on video. Essentially, what this movie boils down to is a blatant ripoff of the 80s movie The Breakfast Club (complete with all the sterotypical characters - including an Ally Sheedy semi-Goth, a nerd, the pretty chick, etc. Of course, it pains me to even mention this movie with that iconic 80s' film, but that's exactly what this is - a very poor attempt at borrowing that concept with some utterly moronic attempt and twisting it into a horror movie (and trust me, there's not one scare or good surpise in this), and that's what you get with this. If you do rent or buy this, you will be furious at having given up your hard-earned money - so, consider this fair warning: avoid this one at all costs! This is deifnitely one Amazon review that weeps for the fact that there isn't a "zero star" rating.

I just got this movie in the mail yesterday. I was pleasently surprised as I got further in to the movie. This movie has the same actress as "Dark Fields", and after watching that, because it is a little drawn out in places, I wasn't sure what to expect from this. But I loved it. Classic high school scene, the acting wasn't bad and there was a good ending which left room for part 2, (HOPEFULLY)... However, the idea for the killer could have been better in my opinion. I like to see the killer in a mask of some sort. Not just an ordinary guy. But all in all it was pretty exciting all the way through with a very good ending. If you live for the next slasher to be released, this is a good one...
