The solution manual can only be as good as the text. That said, this falls short as well. It only has the odd problems, and as the text does, it often skips steps (which people who require the help of a solution manual need) in showing the solutions. On the other hand, it's the only solution manual available for the Larson/Hostetler's College Algebra, 7th edition. In short, if you are required to use the text, it's a useful solution manual. If you have a choice of books, there has to be a better text out there. Shoot - High school texts with lousy reviews from mathematicians are better texts.
