About the Author
Rabbi Abraham Hirsch Rabinowitz was a well-known author and scholar. An alumnus of Gateshead Yeshivah and Hebron Yeshiva, he received rabbinical ordination from Chief Rabbi Hertzog, Rabbi Meltzer, and Rabbi Sarna. He attained academic degrees from Leeds University and the University of Witwatersrand. He served as rabbi to distinguished communities in England and South Africa. In 1961, he returned to Israel with his family, and in 1968 he was appointed chief rabbi of the Israeli air force. Rabbi Rabinowitz died in 1987.
