I have my 4th grader doing this book. It is a little bit of a struggle. The lessons are quite long for us so we take 2 days for each lesson. There are 42 lessons with a time line, lesson goal, background text, memory verse, questions,and then thought questions for every lesson. This book covers from Creation to King Saul and so lessons are just highlighting the the greater happenings, not every little detail.

We've been home schooling for 12 years now. We've tried different Bible studies. I must say that I think CLP's Studying God's Word from Book E through H are wonderful! I don't do all the time lines and I divide each lesson over 4 days making it not so overwhelming, but these really help with teaching the kids how to effectively navigate through their Bibles. The old Testament studies at times seem a bit harsh, but after all, that's why we need the blood. We don't measure up to the law. In my opinion, these are a fantastic resource and flexible to use. And as I said before, they have been one of the best tools I've found for helping teach the children navigation through their Bibles, which is an important skill. Plus, of coarse, they are learning God's Word and truth and History :)
