Reality rules for conquering life’s big challenges

Stuff Happens (and then you fix it!) is a simple guide for getting through life’s rough spots and turning these challenges into positive opportunities for personal growth. Life, as good as it is, is sometimes going to throw some dirt on you. This uplifting and inspirational book by two award winning authors, internationally renowned Speaker Hall of Famer John Alston and five-time Emmy award winner Lloyd Thaxton, offers nine "Reality Rules" for dealing with these trying times and getting your life back on track. Keeping these nine rules in mind helps readers prepare for the stuff that happens and gives them the attitude adjustment they need to succeed. The many stories in the book of people bouncing back from all kinds of big and little problems by applying one or more of the nine reality rules offers proof that these rules really work. It’s not what happens to you that’s important, it’s how you respond to what happens and Stuff Happens (and then you fix it!) tells you not only how to respond but how to fix it.

5.0 out of 5 stars It can be fixed, May 22, 2003

This review is from: Stuff Happens (and then you fix it!): 9 Reality Rules to Steer Your Life Back in the Right Direction (Hardcover)
Stuff Happens reads as though you are listening to one of John Alston's great motivational speeches.

John is with you: coaching, counseling, mentoring, challenging and pushing while equipping you to get moving.

Lost your job? Great! Now you have time to invest in your future. You can do what you have always wanted to do: start a business, find a new love, write a book.

The unexpected provides opportunities. John helps you to recognize the opportunities and prompts you to take advantage of them. He uses stories to illustrate his points just as he does in his speeches.

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars On the way to Tucson, March 24, 2003

I read this book on a plane to Tucson. Loved It! Wish I had had a guide like this 57 years ago when I started Northwestern University! It also occurred to me that "Stuff Happens" will make a great text for training the 50 sales persons in our four "La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries" We spend a lot of time on product knowledge and sales techniques. "Stuff Happens" with its wonderful natural breaks to "make a list" or "walk around the room" and its clear summary of each point, will be an ideal text to follow to help get across the kind of attitude we expect from our sales force in handling all the "Stuff" that happens on a retail floor.
