Product Description

Stuhrling Original

With a sensually revealing dial face, the Stuhrling Original Men's 1077.33151 Classic Delphi Venezia Automatic Skeleton Black Watch takes class to a new level. This refined timepiece begins with a round 44mm stainless steel case with a fixed triple step-design bezel, exhibition case back and a textured crown. These elements surround a textured silver skeleton dial, which is protected by a synthetic sapphire crystal and features luminous dot and black Roman numeral hour markers and thin luminous hands powered by automatic self-wind movement. A black alligator-embossed leather band straps this watch to the wrist, while a reliable buckle clasp ensures its secure placement. Finally, this watch boasts water resistance up to 165 feet (50 meters). For a look that is sure to turn heads in the boardroom, turn to this Stuhrling Original.

Krysterna Crystals

Krysterna is proprietary to Stührling Original and refers to the crystals that are used in its timepieces. Krysterna stems from the eyewear industry and has more strength over a spread surface area than sapphire. Krysterna crystals are more scratch resistant than mineral crystals and more shatter resistant than sapphire crystals.

Stuhrling Original

The Delphi Family belongs to the Classic Collection, and they include timepieces that feature mechanical and automatic movements. Many of them also utilize an exquisite triple step design bezel.

Summary of Features

• Movement: Manual/Self-Winding Automatic Movement

Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.

Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).

• Complications: Classic Three Hand Movement
• Dial: Hydraulically Stamped Guilloche Pattern on Skeletonized Dial
• Hands: Spade-Style Hands with Luminous Tips

This is the best watch value anywhere.

The only issue I had was the movement in the back of the watch became detached when its screw fell out.

My wife bought this "premium" timepiece for my Christmas gift with the understanding that it was "Swiss" and had a premium-grade designation. When it quit working 2 months after that, we attempted to return it through an authorized reseller as per the instructions in the warranty. We were informed that the only authorized reseller in the state did not in fact do any returns and that they had no idea how I should proceed. Upon further inspection, I found that nowhere in the description does the company indicate the country of origin for this timepiece. It states in a very misleading fashion that the watch is made to Swiss "standards" and under Swiss "supervision". Furthermore, the warranty does not cover the crystal even when it appears to have been damaged prior to my receiving the watch. For $20 shipping charge, they will inform you that they will repair the watch for more than the original cost of this "precision" timepiece. After spending many thousands of dollars with Amazon, this is easily the WORST experience I have ever had.

I see a lot of people on here bashing the watch brand "Sturhling", and want to help everyone out here. this brand is actually a very nice watch for the money. you get a lot of bang for your buck. and as far as not keeping time very well, LOL, ask someone who owns a Rolex about how well that keeps accurate time. people that want a time piece that will keep 100% on the dot time, generally go with a watch with a quartz movement(battery operated). I guarantee anyone that has purchased one of these watches from Sturhling directly has not had problems, or from an authorized dealer. nothing against Amazon and others like it(overstock, shop NBC, etc.), I love this company. but there is a reason why these watches that are $900.00 + MSRP are being sold for $120.00!! people you get what you paid for. most of these watches(all brands) if not ALL of them are what is sometimes referred to as "gray market" they are genuine, but they are always older models, and most importantly and the reason they are discounted so deeply, is due to the fact that they are the watches that during manufacturing, did not pass all of the quality control check points, so they take these so called "rejects" and instead of "scrapping" them they sell them to these "discount" companies for pennies on the dollar, so even if they do have some problems here and there, you really are "GETTING WHAT YOU PAY FOR" and it still is a good deal. the only way around that is go and support a business that sells the watch you need, you pay more but get more. and just to clear this up Stuhriling watches are not all "swiss made", but their line of "Stuhrling Prestige Watches" ARE ALL SWISS MADE.Read more ›

Arrived defective out of the box. Little hour markers inside the case have fallen off and were fluttering around inside the case. $5 watches in the mall have better quality. Clearly a fake MSRP, fake "sale", fake swiss quality. Shame on Amazon for letting this junk be sold and misrepresented on their site.

After the watch did not keep time correctly (as described below), I sent the watch back to Sturhling under warranty with the $20 required. They returned the watch within a couple of weeks - but it still does not keep reasonable time. My first day wearing the watch, it lost 3 minutes within the first 4 hours. I made sure it was fully wound, and it lost 5 minutes within the next 6 hours. From my experience with Stuhrling, the watches look and feel great . . . but unfortunately are not reliable enough to keep time accurately.

Three months ago, I bought this watch (but the model with the black face).
What I like: Sturhling makes attractive watches for a reasonable price. I received several compliments on the watch and when I do searches for watches, I find myself drawn to the Sturhling styling - they seem to have some of the most creative designs. Their packaging is attractive.
What I do not like: As others have noted on reviews of Sturhling watches, the watch kept OK time for a couple of months (not great - within a few minutes each couple of days). The self-winding mechanism is not enough to keep this watch wound. I would wear the watch for 15 hours each day and the watch would completely wind down. To stay running, it must be wound manually each day (minor inconvenience). Recently, the watch has been keeping erratic time - I have seen it lose as much as 10 minutes within a couple of hours. Sometimes it will gain 3 minutes within a couple of hours. I need the watch to keep time during meetings - I have to reset the watch prior to every meeting to make sure I'm close. As mentioned, to get the watch serviced under warranty, Sturhling requires you to pay shipping +$20.

I bought this watch as a birthday gift for my husband. It has maybe been worn 10-15 times. This was purchased as a nice watch to wear out. He works a dirty job so he doesn't get to dress up much. Anyway after about 6 months the hands just fell off and are just laying inside the glass. There is no sign of wear or tear not even a scratch. It just fell off while being worn. It has been kept in a jewelry box. I really expected better quality and longer life for this price. I am very unsatisfied.
