This self-winding skeleton watch will never need batteries! It is a rather large watch, with subtle heart designs etched into the dial. The ribbon covered leather band has a slight shimmer to it which is very pretty. Because of the size of the watch, it might not look good on a petite lady.

Update: I now own this watch in two colors and love them both. The watch pictured has a light rose gold bezel & darker rose gold face which surprisingly goes with most of my clothing. This color works nicely with brown, brick, varying shades of pink, dark red, and coral. Probably even more colors, but those came to my mind first. I've received several compliments on this watch...even from strangers.

Update: After almost 1 1/2 years, this watch still keeps great time, & looks almost like new. The band still looks great. Also, because it is self-winding...your wrist and hand movement keep it wound...if you don't wear it daily, you'll need to set the time and re-wind it a little bit before you wear it again.

Update: April 2010, almost 3 years later, my watch still keeps good time. The bezel is more of a dark gold color now, with a hint of rose. The band still looks nice. I rotate a few watches to match what I'm wearing, so this one doesn't get daily wear. I love the fact that I've never had to buy a battery for it.

Update: March 23, 2011, my watch still keeps good time; the band is showing some wear, the bezel is still a dark gold color.

This watch has been back to the manufacturer twice for "replating". Soon after purchase, the plating on the bezel started to peel off. Many weeks after returning it to the manufacturer (New York), many phone calls and much grief later, the watch came back and the same thing happened (in the same spot!). It went back again, came back many weeks later and within a few days of wearing it the same spot appeared. Spent over $60.00 in shipping and insurance sending it back to them and it is still junk!

This watch was gently used by a gentle lady on special occasions - not worn everyday, not in the shower, pool, etc...

I purchased this item on January 28, 2008 as a Valentine's Day gift - unfortunately, I could not return it for a refund from Amazon because it wasn't used at all until near the end of February and the defects didn't appear until after the return period was past. Thus, the nightmare of having to deal with the manufaturer. So, nearly a year later, this expensive piece of junk is sitting in a drawer (should go in the trash, really...). Buyer Beware!

If you think this watch is beautiful in the picture than you will be floored when you receive it. I wore this watch for the first time today and I have already had three people comment on how much they liked it. I am also happy to note that the watch is classy enough to wear to a corporate work environment.

This watch is shipped flat (instead of wrapped around a holder) and is in a beautiful gift box. I thought it was also interesting that the back of the watch is clear and allows you to see all of the gears moving inside.

Very pleased & will be buying other watches from Stuhrling in the future.

I purchased this watch for myself on a lightning deal last year. I got a nice price for a very nice watch -- or so I thought.

The watch came with a review incentive on a slip of paper included in the box -- a $10 gift for an amazon review within 20 days of purchasing. If I'd left my review within the 20 day period I'd probably have left a pretty positive review. The watch was attractive, and I loved watching the exposed works in action.

However, after a few months of careful daily wear the rose gold color wore away on the bezel exposing the stainless steel base metal. I was so disgusted that I gave it to my 10 year old daughter. I'll never buy Stuhrling again.

I bought this watch for a birthday present. It was her favorite gift. Looks beutiful and she received many compliments at work. I gave it to her in July it stopped keeping exact time 6 weeks later. It became non fuctional shortly thereafter and we returned it for repair on the 24th of September. We have not gotten a confirmation of receipt nor have we heard anything from Stuhrling since sending the watch in for repair. I can not recommend this watch because it was very embarrasing to have to return it for repair so soon after giving it as a gift. I am not sure that I will ever hear from the company again given that it has been several weeks since returning the watch. So buyer beware. I will amend my review should we have a successful outcome.
UpDATE Watch was eventually returned didn,t work was promised by company that they would replace the works however was returned a 3rd and 4th time still does not work. I give up. By the way this is the only review I have ever written. My advice is don't buy this watch especially if your planning to give it as a gift.

I really loved this watch when I first received it. It's beautiful and a joy to wear. I treated it very delicately and wore it infrequently. HOWEVER, right at the two-year mark, it stopped working for no reason. It wouldn't keep time at all, the bezel coating was peeling, and it clearly reached the end of its functional life. I've had much cheaper watches last more than a decade. I would never again purchase a Sturhling; they're not worth the cost, even when they are a "lightening deal". Anything more than $40 for one of these watches is a waste of money.

I bought this watch last May, and was very careful when wearing it. One day for no reason the watch just stopped while it was still on my wrist. I wore the watch almost everyday, and never dropped it or damaged it in anyway. Is it my luck or the watch just plainly sucks?

bought this for my wife and if you just want a bracelet its looks pretty it doesn't self wind and it loose time after winding manually. Would not recommend if you need it for a time piece

I had seen this watch, Women's Cupid II, as a Lightning Deal on Amazon a couple weeks ago. I have not worn a watch for years. But, the unique beauty of this watch and the well known reputation of Stuhrling, I decided to order this watch.

Wow, a true beauty! Besides keeping Father Time, I feel it completes my outfit. It has become part of my daily casual attire.

The package has been described by previous viewers and they are right. And, yes, the watch is much more beautiful than the picture.

One can see the clockwork pulsations inside. I did not notice on the web page, but there are small hearts along the background by the numbers. I read this self-winding watch will last around 30 hours or one must reset the time. The incredible details of this well-designed watch is a keepsake I can wear daily.

These watches sold quickly and am glad that Amazon decided to restock them.

I bought this watch for my wife for an early Valentine's Day gift. She loves it. We've been married 19 years and of all the gifts this watch seemed to impress her more than most other valentine's day efforts on my part. The heart was of course very appropriate! The back of the watch is see-thru and you can make out the fine detail of the construction and jewels. The packaging is very impressive, the watch feels substantial, and the band and clasp are well made. I highly recommend!
