This watch is everything you could want and more. I have a smaller wrist size, and will not buy a watch with a dial size over 44mm. This watch comes in at 42mm, and is perfectly balanced with my wrist. It doesn't come across as too small, or too big.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful accessory that fails as a timepiece
It is a beautiful watch. It looks great on and people love it. If you wear watches as just an accessory, like a ring or a bracelet, then you will be happy with this product. As others have said, it is made in China, so it is not Swiss and does not have their quality.

This review is from: Stuhrling Original Men's 150A.33151 Special Reserve 'Symphony Maestro II' Skeleton Automatic Watch (Watch)
This watch is everything you could want and more. I have a smaller wrist size, and will not buy a watch with a dial size over 44mm. This watch comes in at 42mm, and is perfectly balanced with my wrist. It doesn't come across as too small, or too big.

I generally stick with only metal bracelet watches, and this is my first leather band watch. The band is comfortable, and breathes well. It's definitely not for a huge wrist individual though. I have it on the third pin position on the watch band. So someone who generally has the wrist size to support a 50mm watch or thereabouts will likely not find this band a good fit.

I was initially a little worried about the large crown size, but in person it's a nice size. The pictures on the site don't really do the watch justice. In person, every detail is beautiful and clear and even with all the dials, (Month, Date, Day, and 24-hour) it only took about 30 seconds to get everything set correctly.

I got a phenomenal deal on this watch, and couldn't be happier with it. It's sophisticated look lends itself to a fine suit, or something slightly above casual wear.

Couldn't be happier.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful accessory that fails as a timepiece, January 17, 2011
This review is from: Stuhrling Original Men's 150A.33151 Special Reserve 'Symphony Maestro II' Skeleton Automatic Watch (Watch)
It is a beautiful watch. It looks great on and people love it. If you wear watches as just an accessory, like a ring or a bracelet, then you will be happy with this product. As others have said, it is made in China, so it is not Swiss and does not have their quality.

As a timepiece, it fails for two reasons. First, since the majority of the face is silver and the hands are silver, it can be hard to read. Extremely hard to read if you don't have 20/20 vision or the light is a little low. If you are in a dim light setting, like a nice restaurant, a company meeting with a presentation going, or at dusk/dawn, it can be impossible to read. At least the other model of this watch has blue hands. It would have been helpful if they had chosen a different color.

The second reason - and for me the reason to knock them down 2 stars - is that it does not keep time accurately. I understand that this watch does not have a battery and will not keep running for months on its own. I get that, I really do. However, even after winding the watch and wearing it for 4 days straight, I keep having to adjust the time, day, and date setting. I left the watch in a drawer on Friday evening - again, after winding the watch every morning and wearing it on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - and by Sunday it was 3 hours behind, and 1 day/date behind and the second hand was still ticking. Sorry, but I don't think I should have to daily babysit a watch or spend money on a "winding" case so that I can wear it without having to reset the time and day/date every single time. If manually winding it and having the motion wind it cannot keep it on time for more than a day or two, it is useless as a watch.

So, as an accessory, it looks great and I will probably wear it ONLY for dressy functions that happen occasionally. Then, I don't mind having to set the watch. It won't be worn daily as I don't have the patience to have to set the watch every morning.

Very nice. I really like it. Although a little hard to see the time at night because of the skeletal design but totally worth it.

thanks

5.0 out of 5 stars Great all around watch for the price, March 16, 2011

This review is from: Stuhrling Original Men's 150A.33151 Special Reserve 'Symphony Maestro II' Skeleton Automatic Watch (Watch)
This is my first automatic mechanical watch and so far I am very impressed with the quality. The look is great, classy with just enough "bling" without going too far, works well with dress or casual. I love the month, date and day complications. Seems to keep very accurate time so far as well! The only downside is that the hands can be a little hard to read to tell the time because the silver tone does not stand out well on this background in natural light. But overall, I am extremely pleased. I havent seen many watches that cost many times more that I would rather have. This is my new everyday watch.

Bought as a birthday gift for my husband. He loves it--it looks great, feels great and runs great. He had been looking at them on tv, but there was a better selection and I got it at a wonderful price on amazon.com.

This watch has a very distinct and good look to it. The bezel of this watch does stick out a little but not as bad as it appears in these images. My only con is that it is quite hard to see the month and days due to their size and lettering. This watch goes great with a suit and tie. The leather band is very nice and feels pretty good on my wrist. I recommend this watch for anyone who dresses up on a daily basis.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty, Elegant, Unique, LIES, January 5, 2011

This review is from: Stuhrling Original Men's 150A.33151 Special Reserve 'Symphony Maestro II' Skeleton Automatic Watch (Watch)
For the price, I believe this watch is a steal!
The case that it arrives in is quite attractive, and it only gets better when you open it and find the watch strapped in (along with cleaning cloth and date adjustment tool)
Setting the time is very easy, with the crown for 12/24 hour clock and the three buttons/push pins for the day, month, and date.
Genuine leather strap is nice, though I wish there were a metal band option (I prefer those) But I'm sure if I really want to I can purchase one separately and put it on.
The balance wheel and escapement are clearly visible from the bottom of the watch, and I've spent a lot of time simply watching it.
The crown is a little large for my taste, but the rest of the watch makes up for it.

Beautiful watch
Great Price **Or is it??
Pretty Box
Recommend!

**EDIT
the number of "available" watches is continuously changing, as well as the "list price" and sale price.
When I purchased it said there were two available, list price was $930, and sale price was $127
It's a good watch, but. I. don't. like. being. lied. to.

also, my watch runs fast, every now and then I'll find myself having to wind it back a few minutes to be on the right time.

I just received this watch as a gift from my wife. It is my new favorite watch in my collection. The face is beautiful, the packaging is great and, according to her since I'm not sure how much she paid for it, the price was really good! I love the fact that you can see the inner mechanism from the front and from the back. I look forward to buying another Stuhrling watch in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice watch, December 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Stuhrling Original Men's 150A.33151 Special Reserve 'Symphony Maestro II' Skeleton Automatic Watch (Watch)
The watch arrived exactly as described. So far we haven't seen an problems with keeping time, etc, but then again it's only been 2 days. It's very easy to set and easy to read the numbers, etc on the face. The only reason I gave the watch 4 instead of 5 stars, is because for some strange reason I don't love it. But it's no fault of the watch, just personal taste I guess. It looks bulkier than I expected (but measurements are as posted), and heavier than expected. My boyfriend seems to like it though. It's definitely a watch on the larger side, so make sure whoever you're giving it to likes large watches.
