This watch, the STUHRLING ORIGINAL MEN'S 171A.3335E2 CLASSIC EXCLUSIVE 'CURVETTE 44' SLIM AUTOMATIC WATCH seems to have everything anyone could ask for in a watch. VERY handsome styling, automatic movement, (no batteries, no mechanical winding -- just move your wrist to wind it!), a VERY thin case, water-resistance, and even a tiny "second hand" in the bottom, which is, as opposed to the more usual, "second sweep" hand, (which goes around the entire face of the watch)-- less obtrusive, and more generally pleasing to the eye. No -- this is NOT a chronograph, and will NOT tell phases of the moon, or what time it is in, say, Istanbul, when it is 12:00 noon in New York City. But most chronographs, (except for those with prices in the stratospheric range), are cluncky affairs -- and this mid-price watch is nice and neat and thin, and will look great on any man's wrist.

What then is missing? LUMINOUS HANDS! It is truly a shame that such a wonderful watch can easily be read during the daytime only! Luminous hands would allow this watch to be read 24 hours a day, and in the darkest of rooms. Without these luminous hands, this watch falls just short of being spectacular. With its present great features and great looks, the omission of this single, simple feature truly is a great pity, and leaves anyone looking at all the great features on this watch, (and thinking of the one simple feature that has been left out), to wonder: WHY?

The watch was beautiful, but the face was way too big. My husband, who is a tall man, wanted a classic, slender, dressy watch. In the picture, this watch looked just right, but on the arm, it was a big, bulky, sporty casual watch. So, we returned it.

This timepiece look very chic and I supposed to use it for holidays or weekend only, but now I don't take off it everyday and sometimes sleeping with it. The clock-face well readable and date too, it's very important for me! I am completely satisfied of my new Stuhrling watch.

Got this self-winding watch from my kids for Father's Day. Really very attractive and precise. Great packaging too. I love it.

I bought this watch around Christmas. I've only worn it for a few weeks. So far, it's been great.

1) Looks great - passes for a much more expensive watch
2) Works well - no issues to date
3) The face is large, but not uncomfortable to wear

Overall it's great watch for the money.

I needed a dress watch to wear for dressier occasions. This watch caught my eye as soon as I saw it. The watch has a beautiful look to it and just looks classy. The first time I wore it out I got a compliment on it right off the bat. The large face is good for a person my age because it is easy to read. I am well pleased with my choice and I am looking forward to wearing it for many years.

I received this watch as a Christmas present. It is the finest watch I have ever owned and the sales price was incredible. Maybe as I get more accustomed to it I may have some criticisms, as posted in other reviews; but I seriously doubt it. This is a winner.

Every time I wear this watch I get compliments. I love it. Stuhrling make great watches. Myself, I love it. No regrets.

Very nice watch, although the previous reviewer who mentioned how large it is wasn't kidding..it's probably too big for smaller wrists. I loved it until the dial used to adjust date/time broke from normal use ~3-4 months after purchase, and the seconds hand stopped working.

My Stuhrling watch lasted 6 weeks and was worn 5 times before the minute hand fell off - watch was not bumped or dropped. I contacted Stuhrling's repair and was told that I had to ship it back at my own expense and they would "kindly waive" the normal $20 handling/return fee since the watch was nearly new, with no guarantee as to how fast the turnaround would be. No mention of the $20 fee under their warrantee info on Amazon. Thank god for Amazon's stellar service since they replaced the watch with new (too late for refund by two weeks)and will handle Stuhrling directly. Poor Stuhrling customer service for broken watch
