Nice watch, but with some shortcomings
on February 14, 2014
This is my second Stuhrling watch. As usual, it appears to be built very well and the price seems great given how the build quality looks, but I almost returned it due to the incredibly challenging design of the watch band releases. It has the nifty little post handles to easily remove/swap bands, but it was still almost impossible to accomplish. (I spent about 20 minutes trying to get the blue band on and gave up, although I managed to get the black band back on; some might be easier.) If you're a bigger-wristed guy, you'll probably like the size. I considered the face size carefully beforehand and it's still about 10% larger than I'd prefer. I wish the numerals were glow-in-the-dark, but I can't fault it for that as it didn't make the claim in the specs (it looks like it might be from the photos.) The smaller faces are almost impossible for me to discern the day of the month with my 44-year-old eyes, but even my eagle-eyed young son had trouble and I should have expected that size to be impractical. I'm keeping it, but I'm a little let-down overall based on how much I like my dressier Stuhrling model.
