Just plain great,

This review is from: Stukas Over Disneyland (Audio CD)
Why are people comparing this to other Dickies albums? This album is excellent and blows away anything that any of these phony "punk" bands are coming out with nowadays. If you can find this on vinyl, though, there was a re-released version on Enigma that came with 3 extras - bowling with bedrock barney, gigantor, and I'm okay you're okay, NEW versions, not just the singles rerecorded, and they were all great. The Dickies are one of my top 5 bands of all time. You can do no wrong buying any of their albums, so help me god.

Punk's Funniest Band,

The Dickies were masters of hilariously revved-up covers of familiar songs and TV themes, as well as the writers of such goofy originals as "Stuck In A Pagoda With Tricia Toyota." Their manic cover of the theme song to the '60s cartoon "Gigantor" ("He's bigger than big! Stronger than strong!") was a kitsch classic. It's too bad the "Great Dictations" album is no longer available, since that greatest hits album was the best representation of their work. However, "Stukas Over Disneyland" fills the bill pretty well.

This is considered by many to be the last great album by The Dickies, though I beg to differ. If you ask me, they wouldn't put out their best work for another decade(that would be Idjit Savant). That's not saying Stukas is bad. On the contrary, it earns it's reputation as a classic all the way. If you buy this cd, the only complaint you'll have is that it's too short. It's kinda like The Dickies' version of Earth A.D. Not in sound, in length. I'm reviewing the remaster that Triple X Records put out a few years back. If you got the Restless version that came out some time ago, you'll notice that there are a couple of extra songs. That's cool, but those songs are also available as bonus tracks on the Incredible Shrinking Dickies and Dawn Of The Dickies remasters. Plus, it looks like the song order is different. I'm assuming that the Triple X version has the songs in the original order that the lp had them. But with either version you get the whole Stukas album. It's a little slower paced than the previous two albums, but that's no complaint. Like a good Snickers bar, this cd should satisfy the hardcore punk fan in us all.

This is deffinetly one of there best albums. I really like Bed rock Barney, not only does there music move fast but it also has a comic backgrond. I am looking for GREAT DICKTATIONS, And Dawn of the DICKIES. In any form, cd, cassete, whatever. The search is looking rather grim. If anyone can help please post a comment here. Well gotta go hang with MANNY<MOE and JACK!
