If your kids are interested in nature and wildlife, this is the book for you! The stump fairies are not the magical fairies that live in fairy tales...they are just another of the species that live at Miller Hill. The description of the stump and surrounding area, and the detail about the animal and insect characters are very rich. It was easy for us to picture the scene. We also enjoyed the humor, and there are a couple of characters that stole the show! You can't miss with this book!

An engaging tale weaving fantasy with elements of the natural world. Full of rich detail bringing the fairie world to life. A fun way for children of all ages to learn about plants and animals in a forest setting (I especially liked looking up the books references on the stump fairie website which had great pictures of the plants and animals in the story!) An enjoyable quick read!

This is a great kids book with an interesting story, plenty of new vocabulary, and accurate information about the story's wildlife and their habitat. Many good moral and ethical lessons in book. Its time kids had good reading examples. I would recommend the book to parents that read to their children or to kids up to about age 10. I hope the author follows this book up with a continuation of the Stump Fairies saga.
