It's a handy reference that I highly recommend.
Justin
It's not a beginners book - you need a reasonable grasp of HTML and basic CSS to put it to good use - but it teaches CSS3 very effectively.
Mountain Coder
It is very well written and above all, it is very, very informative and full of extra resources.

Just the book I've been looking for. Its project based approach with downloadable files from the book's website makes learning easy. It's not a beginners book - you need a reasonable grasp of HTML and basic CSS to put it to good use - but it teaches CSS3 very effectively. So much vital info is packed into it, especially about media queries, embedding fonts and CSS graphic techniques. I also found it a vital reference listing loads of useful links under each topic for exploring the nooks and crannies of CSS3. Finally, with so much interest in Responsive Web Design now that CSS media queries are supported on A class browsers, it will prove an excellent introduction to anyone wanting to build a site that adapts to the multitude of browsing devices flooding the market in 2011 - including iPhones, iPads, netbooks, notebooks and even widescreen desktops. It's the right book at just the right time.

This book is great,

it gives you insights in the new way of coding your pages with css3 new features, along
with great examples through the book.

The book gives you also knowledge of great techniques (usable too in css2) like to make
'image-free' triangles with border property... !!

The book is well written, easy to read, fully colored, full of extra-links of useful references and tools.

Notice: this book is not for beginners (they could read the great O'Reilly CSS Missing Manual first)
and it's supposed that you have a good grasp of CSS coding before starting reading this book.

then this book it's a GREAT WINNER !!!!!

it may deserves 6 stars !!

I bought this after seeing a recommendation on Twitter. I was interested in learning more about CSS3 with a prior knowledge of CSS. This book is not only a cracking introduction to the new properties introduced with CSS3, but gives you a complete overview of how to use them, with full colour examples. Thorough explanations are provided and - one of the really useful parts of the book that makes it my first CSS reference - multiple web addresses for relevant content online.

I'm really glad I bought this book, it's made my life easier and is perfectly pleasant to thumb through for specific info. I'd recommend it to anyone who wanted to know more about CSS3!

This is an excellent book for those who already have some web design experience and wish to polish it using the latest version of Cascading Style Sheets. In addition to the easy-to-understand text there is a raft of links to sites for the more in-depth details. Stunning CSS3 becomes a multi-layered tool, only the essential core of which is printed.
Possibly best of all, Stunning includes great how-to examples plus good advice on what not to do, together with cogent reasons for avoiding problems. There is quite a bit spent on shaping your site to be useful for all the commonly used browsers (even IE6+) as well as the horde of mobile devices flooding the market.
If you're interested in really using CSS3, rather than theorizing about it, get this book and apply it, together with the information in the copious links.

This is a decent book that looks at the current (as of Firefox 3.6, IE 8 -- which means its long outdated already) state of adherence to CSS standards at version 3.

Its primary focus is demonstrating what you can do via CSS rather than prior methods of using graphics and/or scripting. As such, it is not (and wasn't intended to be) exhaustive of the CSS standards themselves, but rather a primer to encourage use & adaptation of the prospective standards embedded in CSS3.

It does not spend much attention (to say the least) on anything prior to CSS3, and it is not an encyclopedia of CSS standards or syntax.

What I love about this book is that it shows me fool-proof ways for doing things with CSS that I didn't know CSS could do. It's got a great design, clear explanations and a lot of good illustrations. Plus, they're pretty straightforward about the state of CSS3 when it comes to browsers -- what things work now and what things don't (with the occasional work around). It's a handy reference that I highly recommend.

I love this book. The book itself is well designed, with an elegant, open layout (enough whitespace!) that uses color gracefully. Perhaps more importantly, the content is also very well designed. Each project takes you stepwise from intermediate to expert, in one area of CSS3 after another. It is a model of good teaching. (My field is improving science and engineering teaching, so I enjoy this book for being a source of teaching ideas.)

What I need now is an equally good book for CSS1/2/2.1!

I've read the book, and worked through several of the projects. It is well worth the cost. Although it's for intermediate-level CSS folks, she thoroughly explains the issues and best ways to use the CSS3 solutions (both pros and cons). I found this to be very helpful in determining when and if to implement the various tools in my client projects. I purchased her prior book, and it was also great .. so thought this one wouldn't disappoint, and it didn't. There was plenty there that I didn't know before reading the book. I recommend going through the projects. The support website is also great. I highly recommend this to anyone currently writing CSS, and will continue to purchase Zoe's books.
