Had this product for a few days. The item broke when I got it. It would not charge properly and ultimately did not charge at all. The instuctions were a nightmare. They were translated to "Engrish" on pages that were equivalent to the size of a postage stamp. The words, hard to decipher doesn't begin to cover it. The cd that accompanied it--pure Japanese. If you can't read Japanese, well you're outta luck.

The positive note(!: When it was functioning, the video was pretty clear.

That and I got a refund.

I bought this camera for my Husband who is a P.I. & I thought this would be a nice equipment addition. I questioned based on the price & went searching on the Web. I found some good comments but now wonder if they were from actual consumers. The instructions are VERY lame IN SHORT. There are even Grammer errors which I find unprofessional. We tried for almost an hour & at that point I decided this item was going back! There is "suppose" to be a disc? I don't see a Disc & I guess it doesn't matter based on the other user its in Japanese & we don't read Japanese!

Mine didn't break, but otherwise I had the exact same experience. No useful instructions, looks like they were translated on Bablefish and never checked at all. Plug it in to charge it, it never says it's fully charged. Once it recorded video for about 10 minutes... then it just stops. The video doesn't look too bad, and is indeed 640x480@30. This unit is so bad it's not worth the tiny price.

The product advertisement specs for this product are all over the place.

The User Manual says that you can use up to 8GB Micro SD memory card.

There is, in fact, no such thing as a "Micro SD" memory card larger than 2GB.

The unit is actually compatible with both Micro SD and Micro SDHC so you really can use an 8GB memory card.

I tested the unit with both a 2GB Micro SD card and a 4GB Micro SDHC card. Both worked fine.

I've only used it a couple of times and it worked well enough for it's size.

Video is Motion JPEG and framerate appears variable and averages about 20 fps.

640x480 pixels

4:3 aspect ratio

Audio is PCM, 192 Kbps, Mono, 24.0 KHz, 8-bit

Expect dead pixels in video, blurriness and occasional stuttering.

Great camera for R/C Helicopter/Airplane aerial video and hidden personal spycam.

This product has never worked for me and is a cheap knock off of other mini cameras, I wouldn't suggest this product to anyone who is looking for a small easy to use and reliable camera. I found that the case was cheaply made the photo lens was easily filled with lint if put in your pocket and the photo/video functions were over complicated to compensate for lack of parts.

If I could have picked ZERO stars for this, I would have. I bought one and they didn't tell me before buying it, that it can be overcharged by the USB port, but when I got it, the instructions warned not to over charge it. Now how can I remember that? Sure enough, I forgot about it on the usb port and it overcharged. That's just a poor design! I was an electronics R&D technician for 27 years and NO ONE should design a product that can over charge and burn out, that's just ridiculous! I wouldn't suggest risking a penny on one of these, unless the advertising says that the overcharging bad design has been redesigned and the product cannot be overcharged! DO NOT BUY unless you see that!

Product is plainly advertised as a 4 gb product. Wrong. Comes with a 2 gb card, maybe. Recording time is good for an hour, battery life 10 hrs., maximum.

OK, I will agree that the instruction are laughable and that the video quality is not great, but what do you expect for the price you paid. I bought mine from another online store and have enjoyed it very much. I didn't expect to use it for anything more than fun uses. Mine has worked fine for months and I have even burned the video to dvds. I use mine to make videos of rocket launches by putting it into the payload section of my Estes Model rocket. I see the world from a different view now high above the ground thanks to my micro dvr.

Since I reviewed this item I took it to a camp for foster children that I work at. I wanted to use it to take video of the children and the camp ground from the air when I launched my rocket.....well the video stopped working and could not use it. When it worked I liked it but the quality is just not there. I had recorded maybe a total of 4 hours video before it broke. Well it was cheap and I got what I paid for.

Poor quality. Poor imaging. Poor service from CE Compass. Chargeg me 30% to restock a poor quality item . They're fired.

This item does not work. The instructions are written in English by a non-English speaker and are very hard to follow. This product does not work and I had to send it back. Do not waste your time.
