I can't speak to how long this car lasts for, since this is our first day with it (and it feels/seems like a typical flimsy plastic toy), but my 3.5yo son is having a blast. It is somewhat unpredictable, even for an adult, in terms of getting it to go where you want it to, but the beauty of it is that it doesn't easily get stuck places if you just hit the controls randomly (which works great if you are three years old). There are two levers -- both simple to operate. One makes it go forward and back and the other lever spins the front wheels, which gets it unstuck, flips it around, and sends it in different directions. On the top there are two buttons for left and right (and they also flip the front wheels). It took me some practice but it was fun learning. The flickering lights in plastic dome add to the fun factor. Definitely a fun first r/c for a kid if you don't particularly care where it goes, and fun for an older kid/adult to figure out.

My son recieved this for his 6th birthday from a friend, and he and his 4 yr old brother fight over playing with it! We've had numerous r/c vehicles over the years, and this one is by far the coolest, most durable, most fun. Haven't had to change the batteries yet and they've been using it daily for almost a month. Doesn't show any sign of slowing down yet!
