It's about time someone told it like it was,

I heard and read much about the hype and (gasp!) "controversy" surrounding Pink's "Stupid Girls" but it wasn't until I watched the video on cable a few times and just listened to the lyrics that I fully grasped the meaning of what Pink was conveying here and all I have to say is leave it to a hometown girl (well, I'm from the city not the suburbs) to tell it like it is regarding how the female sex acts and is viewed nowadays.
Pink is asking women (especially teenagers who, I believe, suffer from serious esteem and image issues) why we sell ourselves short time and again? (LOVED the part where she asked where the first woman president of the US is - dancing next to 50 Cent in a rap video. Dig it!) I loved her parodies of the crop of the empty-headed who are constantly shoved down the public' throats as being the be all and end all of femininity (Paris and her sex tapes, Nicole and her skeletal-chic look, Jessica the dignified doing a glorified striptease - all bubbled up - on top of a car, Lindsay and her {former} emaciated self, etc). I don't believe the aforementioned are bad people but I would love to know why they sell themselves short by acting like glorified prostitutes (for that easy million or two)? They make the money and it's average teenagers across this country who get stuck having to live up to unreal images time and again (such requirements never apply to males of any age group, though). And all that nonsense about that "that's what the people want" or that "sex sells" got *real* tiresome ages ago. I'm not into current music but Pink's "Stupid Girls" was a (pleasant) exception for me. It's a very poignant message. - Donna Di Giacomo

Amazing single but the true gem is Heartbreaker,

Stupid Girls is a fun upbeat track making fun of Hollywood Girls and the video is hilarious. The true gem on this single is Heartbreaker. The song showcases Pink's amazing voice and range over great lyrics and great music. Too bad this song is not on the album. Heartbreaker is worth the price of the single alone.

I Love Remixes!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Stupid Girls (Rmxs) (Audio CD)
All of these remixes rock (i wish it came with the 'Hani Mix' the 'Kardinal Beats Remix' and 'Heartbreaker' (i already have 'Heartbreaker' but low quility) and if u liked any one of these remixes then might i recomend 'God Is a DJ (Remixes) - EP', the 'Last To Know - EP' or the 'Who Knew Pt.2 - Single' though i hear that the 'Sharp Boys Jonathan Harvey Love Mix' and the 'Bimbo Jone's Radio Edit' aren't very good, I give this cd a 5/5.
P!nk rox!!! (also check out her new album 'I'm Not Dead', but if u get that u've got to get the UK Import version (it's got bonus tracks)

This is a great source for the official "Stupid Girls" remixes, but I'd recommend hitting eBay for the promo vinyl of this single for the full length remixes. However, this CD does contain one mix that is not available on the vinyl, the "D-Bop's 3am At Crash" mix.

D-Bop 3 A.M. at Crash - very electro tinged i like it! Jr. Vasquez & Dynamix - it's very long (But i like long songs) beware not edited, not that i'm complaining, it repeats alot, my mom thinks it gets annoying I DISAGREE it rox and is one of the best (Hani's is good too) Noize Trip - sound R&B it's awesome though, it's a little short though (well 2 seconds shorter than the original Video - seen it a million times! EP - 5/5 stars

Junior Vasquez and Dynamix club mix is da bomb,
By
This review is from: Stupid Girls (Rmxs) (Audio CD)
The Junior Vasquez & Dynamix club mix is freakin' hot. It's a dance club mix clocking over 8 minutes. This is an edgy, housey, progressive, circuitry dance mix. This club mix is a universal song meaning it will play at all dance clubs gay or straight, not just gay clubs. Be warned, there's alot of the F word repeated throughout the dubbing of the song, especially the intro buildup in the beginning. a 100 times better than the album boring version. Of course i heard that the Hani club mix of Pink's Stupid Girls is the best mix but it isn't on this import single. But this Junior Vasquez mix will do.

In reality, the 4 star rating is more for the original than for anything else.
When you have a song as socially poignant as this one, it's hard to remix it while keeping the life that it has on it's own. So when I listened to the remixes, I tried my best to be impartial and also to remember that I was listening to them casually in the comfort of my own home, and not in the club where they should be heard. The D-Bop At Crash Mix is an electro-tinged deep mix that sort of cuts up the vocals a bit. It's alright, toned down with none of the energy in any of the right places. I'm not a fan of this mix. Junior and Dynamix's Club Mix is definitely going to be the one that gets all the attention, but it really drains any life out of the song that it had originally. It will be great to dance to, but the words mean nothing, and are just something the boys can recognize while waving their hands in the air. Perhaps I am being too harsh, because I am judging it against one of the best club mixes I have heard in a long, long time: The Johnny Vicious remix of Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten". But again, all dance, no soul. The Noize Trip mix is the r&b mix of the song, actually catering more to the song than to those who will be listening. As mixes go, it suits the song better, but it still can't hold a candle to the original. And if you don't know the original by now, pull your head out of the ground, you silly ostrich!

Pink Isn't Stupid,
By Michael Kerner "Michael Kerner" (Brooklyn, New York U.S.A.) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: Stupid Girls (Rmxs) (Audio CD)
There are just so many of the younger acts out there that seem more like they are manufactured than just simply put, organic. It is so unfortunate with acts like Jessica Simpson, Beyonce', Lindsay Lohan, and Britney Spears. There are very few that actually speak the minds of being true. Pink is one of those very few singers that does make some very catchy appealing songs, and videos for that matter. Her latest song, Stupid Girls targets the idea of the blondes have more fun atmosphere from performers like Britney, Jessica, Pamela Anderson, and others. The song is from her upcoming album I'm Not Dead, and it is a great song becuase it is very upbeat, and tries to tell woman that they should try to be more about ambitions rather than try to be who has to be hot on television. I think it is one of the best songs and videos on television right now, and it does show Pink's maintained appeal.
