This has to be the funniest book I've read in years! I literally couldn't stop laughing -- it's a stunning indictment of all politicians -- at least now I'm laughing at them! I thought the authors picked an excellent range of stupid quotes -- by mixing them all up every page had at least one or two gems on it -- and the collection as a whole was A++. I also loved the special sections where the authors skewer certain types of political behavior -- It makes me watch politcians on Sunday morning news shows with just a little more cynicism! All in all, I just loved this book!

A very good selection of quotes that had me laughing, chuckling and shaking my head. My college-age son responded to a couple of them with, "Nobody would ever say that!"

The Petrases are known experts at collecting stupid words and deeds, but they have truly outdone themselves with this laugh-out-loud funny book. (They clearly had an enormous wealth of material to chose from.) It's a blast!

Heard about this on the radio the other night and knew I had to check it out. I wasn't disappointed. An amazing cross-section of political stupidity.

Read some excerpts in the paper, bought it and am glad I did. Very funny little book. Confirms everything I've ever thought about politicians. Great to keep in your bathroom, right on the tank, for a good laugh.

This is the funniest book I've ever read! I just couldn't stop laughing -- and got more of a laugh because they're all true!

Sure, we know how dumb things find a way to get into our politicians' mouths (Monica excluded), but this very funny book just shows how repeatedly dumb some politicians can be. Although I am Republican, I found most of the humor in Dan Quayle's quotes, of which there are many. The scary thing is we continue to elect these people to office to represent and lead us. Makes you think.

What can one say? These politicians are every bit as ludicrously funny as one might expect...although it certainly gives one pause. Who's more stupid? We who vote for these people or those for whom we vote? Well, at least they give us a well-deserved laugh on the taxpayer dollar. This is a very funny book, although I tend to think the compilers could have made it much longer! Shall we expect vols. 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.? I hope so.

Very funny -- I think someone already said here that it was frightening and I agree. But it is very funny nevertheless. It makes you realize that many politicians are worth being scared about but you laugh at the same time. I guess it makes it less painful, right?! Anyway, this is very funny whether you are a conservative or a liberal because both sides seem to be equally represented and both are saying very stupid things. Whatever side you're on, I am willing to bet it is here if you want to make a point!

This book was published in 1999 and the majority of quotes make fun of American politicians from the 80's and 90's. Lots of Dan Quayle, and blunders of American presidents (Monica Lewinsky is mentioned multiple times). I read them all, and personally the emotion I experienced was sadness, because these were our leaders, and they were really that stupid. What does that say about our society? Since the humor didn't reach beyond my disgust, I found the book didn't do its job of making me smile. It probably raised my blood pressure instead.

Anyway, the quotes are exceptionally stupid, and if you find that funny, you'll like the book.
