5.0 out of 5 stars Theres plenty of ammo in this book.
A political junkie myself, I recommend this book to anyone interested in politics -- or, at least, to anyone interested in the lighter side of politics. I'm now convinced that Dan Quayle's presidential bid was clandestinely organized by comedians, so that they could get more material from the poor guy. Just consider:

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I was hoping for a good laugh with this book, but these are quotes I've seen so many times before, all over the net. What a shame the author couldn't come up with fresh material. Don't waste your money on this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Theres plenty of ammo in this book., July 5, 2000
This review is from: The 267 Stupidest Things Republicans Ever Said/ The 267 Stupidest Things Democrats Ever Said (Paperback)
A political junkie myself, I recommend this book to anyone interested in politics -- or, at least, to anyone interested in the lighter side of politics. I'm now convinced that Dan Quayle's presidential bid was clandestinely organized by comedians, so that they could get more material from the poor guy. Just consider:

"One word sums up the responsibility of any vice president. And that word is `to be prepared.'" -- Dan Quayle

"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it." -- Dan Quayle

"I'm the vice president. They know it, and they know that I know it." -- Dan Quayle

"Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teaches our children." -- Dan Quayle

"What a waste it is to lose one's mind -- or not to have a mind. How true that is." -- Dan Quayle, addressing representatives of the United Negro College Fund. He garbled their slogan, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste."

There's plenty of ammo in this book for Democrats to hurl at Republicans, and vice versa. And if you're registered under a third party, you'll be glad you did.

This is a great book to have around the office, to read during commutes (if you're a bus or van pool rider), take to the beach, or just leave laying around the house for visitors to flip through.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Gift!, July 6, 2000

What a great idea for the upcoming elections! This book makes the perfect gift for Republicans AND Democrats. Author Ted Rueter has published quotations too good to be kept a secret any longer!

This book is a must for anyone who is interested in politics, whether it be you, a friend or a family member.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious Quotes!, June 24, 2000

This review is from: The 267 Stupidest Things Republicans Ever Said/ The 267 Stupidest Things Democrats Ever Said (Paperback)
This book is a must own for political junkies. It has some of the best gaffes, slips of the tongue, and just plain stupid remarks that politicians have ever said. I laughed out loud after my first look at the book. It is a great book to have or to give as a gift.

Hilarious book -- flipped through it at the store but going to purchase online (and holding out for my autograph). This is a great addition to all my boring political books at home! If you can laugh at politics, you will laugh at these quotes :)

Oh, and did I mention the author is pretty cool?

A tired rehash of quotes I've seen before. I had hoped for new material, but I've read these before. Not recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars The perfect two-volume set for the coward ... sorry ... undecided voter in your life, January 6, 2012
This review is from: The 267 Stupidest Things Republicans Ever Said/ The 267 Stupidest Things Democrats Ever Said (Paperback)
Isn't it great to be one of the "undecided"? You can mask your ignorance and cowardice behind a trendy sneer and say courageous things like: "Throw the bums out!" or "It's a one-party system masquerading as a two-party system!" or "Politicians are like diapers; they need to be changed often and for the same reason." Gosh, I'm chuckling so much at your originality. It must be nice to feel like Bishop Don "Da Majic" Juan while Democrat and Republican "ladies of the evening" throw billions of dollars at you trying to influence your non-existent opinion to get your worthless vote through multiple annoying, borderline GED/special ed ads that make commercial TV unwatchable for the latter half of an election year. Seriously, if you haven't picked a side by this point in your life, you're either stoopid, lazy, a total wusss, or some combo of the three. I, personally, may not agree with the side you pick, but I would at least respect you. But I apologize for making your wittle brain hurt too much. Seriously, do me a favor, stay home on election day, and watch your DVD box sets of "Two and a Half Man." As your hero Charlie Sheen says, "I'm not bi-polar, I'm bi-winning. I win here and I win there." I couldn't have said it better myself.

I am one of those that gets too hot and serious at election time, and this book was the perfect antidote for me. I laughed so hard I got a three-hour case of the hiccups. I'm glad someone out there is keeping track of the funny and very human side of politics.

If you love political triva and a good laugh this is essential reading. There are some classic gems here, and some obscure but hilarious dumb comments. I guarantee that you will want to e-mail some of these to your friends. Its great fun.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for The Spare Time, May 9, 2010
This review is from: The 267 Stupidest Things Republicans Ever Said/ The 267 Stupidest Things Democrats Ever Said (Paperback)
I received this book as a gift; It is a good book for the spare time to laugh. However, the most of the quotes have been published in other political humor quote books.
