I redid my bedroom in soft yellow and sage. As accents I used the Country Lane Amber dresser and armoire as well as the Mica Lamp set, which includes the Shepherd Floor Lamp, Mica torch lamp, accent lamp, as well as the Mission Style Mica Lamp. With the soft orange glow of the lighting with the beautiful furniture my look was complete. As a bonus, I have seen this particular lamp used in several redesign shows!!! It is streamline and classy. I would recommend this set to anyone who is design conscious and looking for warm lighting that makes you feel like you are at home.

We were a little surprised with the height of the lamp (26") and the lamp shade. The stem is nice enough but the lamp shade is not as red as it appears in the picture. For one, in person, it looks more like some kind of antique metal. When lit, the light bulb becomes orange (like a bug light). However, when placed on a lower table, there is nice, white light on the table with an orange glow on the wall. It worked well but at first I seriously considered sending it back.

This is not a good accent light, it does not even light up the table that it sits on. If you like the look of brown light, then this is the lamp for you. If you like a nice glowing accent light, this lamp STINKS.

I bought this lamp after searching for an accent lamp for my living room. I would recommend this lamp to anyone with a room needing a little light from a cool looking piece to accent a small area. I did find it inappropriate for reading though.

I put this lamp on a table in my sunroom and I love the warm glow it casts. Not great for reading, but wonderful and warm as an accent light. Looks more amber when it's lit than red - definate plus.

I recently purchased this lamp, and I have to say, that even though the shade looks dark, this lamp really does light up our bedroom, but the light is not very harsh on the eyes, very soothing, comforting light.

I bought two of these lamps about a year ago for my bedside tables. The mica shade emits a nice, warm, glowing light. It doesn't bother my husband as he sleeps yet it gives me plenty of light to read by. If bright, bold lighting is what you're looking for, then these are not for you. However, they are great for watching TV by and reading in bed. I believe the maximum wattage of bulb you can use is 40, so that gives you some idea of just how bright they're going to be.

I'm not particularly fond of my new lamp. The shade is as red as it seems in the picture but very small. The turn switch arrived kind of damaged, but can still be used. What I particularly don't like is that although I wanted a cozy glow, it hardly lights up anything around it, or even right under it. We have a 100 bulb on it and I've had to check it twice because it feels more like 40!

When the lamp is off, the shade appears to be a very dark red. When it is on, it glows more of an amber color. It's very beautiful and elegant. I also purchased the matching floor torchierre. They really add a designer look to my living room.
