There might be some gems of wisdom in here, but if so they're buried beneath some sloppy, ungrammatical prose--think non-capitalized Is, typos like "wear" for "where," a fair chunk of ALL CAPS, and the occasional gross misusage of a word--and some truly astounding assertions. (Anthropologists are treasure hunters; women who wear boho-chic clothing are laid back and spiritual; Hollister is a really high-end store. There are more like these.) The fashion advice seemed kind of lame and, at times, contradictory. The photos looked outdated. Just pass on this one.

Nothing original here. Very poorly written, loaded with sophomoric statements. Sorry I wasted 20 minutes on this piece of schlock.

Be honest. How many times have you stood in your closet & had no idea what to wear? Do you consider yourself style-impaired? Then this book is for you! Elle Campbell breaks it all down for us, piece by piece.
For starts, she addresses body type. Although you may be aware of the 4 main types, do you really know which one you are? Included are accurate, color photos of each body type. Then, shows example of what to wear for your body type to become the Fashionista you want to be. Taking it a step further, she breaks it to into subtopics of what to wear for your age, too.
Her advice continues on to include face shape in regards to hair cut & dressing your feet to put your best foot forward. Not simply a list of do's & don'ts, there is an explanation on why or why not wear these items & styles. There is an excellent section on types of materials & how you can fake the look you can't afford. Who doesn't want to look fab on a shoestring?
If you're a celeb watcher, she talks about using trends & styles that they make famous. Don't worry about it being a shallow read. Actually, it's quite comprehensive. I was pleasantly surprised at the wealth of knowledge that she shares. It quite exceeded my expectations.
Whether you are a lover of fashion, a clothes horse, or get lost in your own closet, there will absolutely be a section for you. The pictures were an added bonus. It may well the best non-fiction piece for women that you'll read this year. A book you'll want to tell your friends about, it's a 5 star rating from me.
I received an eBook copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

So many fashion books have such generic information that they're not very helpful. That is not the case with this book. You will find specific information and pictures for your body type. There is also a good deal of information on on creating a wardrobe. Lots of information. Lots of pictures. Great! My only complaint is that I couldn't get the table of contents to work which which was

disappointing. I will be using my Kindle 's bookmark feature a lot with this book. Overall, I liked this book so much that I couldn't bring myself to give it less than 5 stars.

Well I will be the first to admit - I am not much into fashion. I don't pay attention to the latest trends and I do not have a high profile job (I work with kids!).
BUT - I did think this was a nice little book! I actually really enjoyed looking at it. I am sure someone who is much more into fashion than I am would LOVE this. Like my daughter, for example, I am sure this would be one of her favorite books and one that she would always be referring to.
And there are tons of full color pictures!

This book goes through pretty much everything you would need to know, from finding your body type, how to dress for your type, how to dress for your age group, do's and don'ts, casual, work, and dressy, shoes, accessories, how to shop the sales, and how to do your hair and make-up.
She shows different celebrities and teaches you "how to get the look". She gives you step-by-step instructions on how to get your hair to look the way you want it to. I think this part is awesome!

There are even suggestion for what to wear on a date! Like who doesn't need help with that, right?
I think young or old, thick or thin - you can use the help of this book. And if not, at least you will have fun looking at it!

From the outset, permit me to say that this was a difficult book for me to review. I am one who is not overly fashion-conscious, but I enjoy looking nice. Therefore, I don't pay attention to trends all that much although I'm better than I used to be. Apparently, I am a different kind of frugal shopper than she is, and so I take an exception with a few of her tips. Probably if you are the typical fashionista, this will be a book that will resonate with you better than it did me. So please take everything that I say with a grain of salt.

My favorite parts of the book were the natural beauty sections where she shared easy recipes for creating your own beauty products at home. I also appreciated her thorough explanation of the different body styles (even though I didn't agree with all her tips concerning these shapes). The picture examples that she shared were phenomenal, and it made me wish that I had an e-book that displayed color or a hard copy of this book. I am not marking down the book for this purpose--the author and publishing company have nothing to do with this issue. If you do choose to read this book, I would recommend a physical copy of the book if you can get it. The sites she lists in the back of the book are amazing. I am familiar with some of the sites, but there are several that are new to me. This list is almost the most valuable asset of the book, in my opinion.

As to the issues, there are a few, but they are minor. I was shocked to read that there are clothes that one invests in that only last through a few times of wearing before being discarded. This completely confounded me since I have clothes that are not the highest quality, and they look good after many years of being worn and loved.
