David Johansen, definitely delivers in this fun rock work out. It has a lot of moments similiar to the wrecklessness of his music w/the dolls. It doesn't quite compare to his debut, (wich sounds like it could have been the dolls third lost album, and is a must have to any music collector), but that hard rocking punk touch is still prominent. "In Style" is ironcially in-style, excuse the punn-s, (I like a touch of alias in my reviews). Sorry to digress, but as I was saying this album is off the wall in dizzying rocky dities-a must selection.

Hard to believe, but David Johansen stepped it up a notch with the release of his second album "In Style." While not quite as varied musically as his first solo album, most of the songs feature Johansen performing almost as if he has a bus to catch, and that's no slam. "Melody," "She," "You Touched Me Too," "Wreckless Crazy," and the title track have to rank right up there with anything he's ever done, with or without the Dolls, and "Flamingo Road" is this album's "Frenchette," full of both tenderness and bluster. Essential...

In Style is a fine continuation of what David Jo started with his self-titled debut....same brilliant band, some great rock & roll songs (She, Wreckless Crazy) and a bit more of a soul direction (title track is the best example). Flamingo Road is a brilliant album-ender (the xtra version of Swaheto Woman is a bonus track). If you love his 1st one, move right on over to this one.

My favourite brilliant "Swaheto Woman" is here. It is merely good reason to buy this!(...perhaps 45 euros is too much?)
