Style Lab: Jewelry DesignThere are times when i buy a game and i have know clue how you play it. But this game is not to easy but its not hard. I love it! once you graduate from jewelry school you move on to your own store. You get to name it, put out your own window display and lots more stuff. once you open customers start coming in. they will tell you what they want and if you don't have what they want you should have it on your laptop where you can buy stuff. This is the best part if you have a DSI you can take a picture of yourself and then you can order your jewelry! For the cheapest prices.Style Lab: Jewelry Design

My daughter loves it but they left out details on how to buy the jewelry. If you are struggling with this, here are the missing directions:

HOW TO BUY YOUR JEWELRY

Design some jewelry and upload it in the DS game. If you've never done this before make note of the code it gives you when you upload - you'll need this to link to your account.
Go to [...]
Note: This is a HORRIBLE website, very hard to use.
Click login in upper left corner. Create an account it necessary.

Click Jewelry Design Boutique sign in middle of the screen.
Click "My Boutique" button.
Use the code from the DS game to link to your account (if you haven't already done so).
Find the design you uploaded and click on it.
Click "Make Public" button.
You may have to await approval before a "buy" button appears.
If this happens log out and come back later to check it.
If a "buy" button appears when you make it public - click on it.
Click "continue to buy"
You will be set to artbeads.com with "Custom Jewelry Design Product" in your shopping basket
Click "proceed to secure checkout button" and pay.

If you had to await approval before it was made public:
Once it is public it will appear in the public boutique.
To find your design click "View All" button
In "Search by Designer" type "FancyApple177" and click Go button
Your uploaded design should be found, click on it
Click "buy"
Click "continue to buy"
You will be set to artbeads.com with "Custom Jewelry Design Product" in your shopping basket
Click "proceed to secure checkout button" and pay.

This game seems to hold the attention of my 2nd grader better than some others. She enjoys being able to make her own designs. She is DISAPPOINTED that you don't just hit an "order" button and get the jewelry that she likes. After seeing the commercials, she thought that's how it worked. Once I explained that you can order jewelry, but you have to PAY for it, she was a bit disenchanted.

The game appears to be very basic. A customer walks in and tells you what they are looking for (i.e. a man walks in and wants to order a necklace for a girl that he met on a ranch). You have to use your knowledge of the intended recipient to design something that they will like. You will be rated on your job.

The beads are very simplistic from what I've seen. I can go to the local craft store and get a good variety to make whatever my daughter has designed that she would like. I can't see why you would want to order them online.

If you are looking for a game for a younger player, this is a good choice. I would think that by middle school - this would be BORING.

I have had so much fun with this game. I didn't know they made games like this! I know it's probably aimed more for younger people, but I think any age would have fun with this.
I've been following the storyline (you have the option of freestyle or story). The storyline: I graduate from design school. Then I get to open, decorate, name my shop and make jewelry! The player has their own portfolio of their designs (very cool). And another amazing feature of the game is after setting up the wifi, the player can share designs, enter contests and send the designs to [...] to be created and purchased. How cool is that? The game is well thought out. The templates are great. The customers are varied.
Anything different I'd like is being able to see the finer details of my designs in my portfolio. And who couldn't use more room to store designs?

I purchased this DSi game formy granddaughter for x-mas and she absolutely loves it. She has had hours of fun with this game. I would definately reccommend it!!!!!!!

My daughter loves this game and plays it often. Some parts are difficult for her, but all in all it seems to be a pretty good game.

This was a very good purchase for my daughter. She enjoys playing this very much. She has decided to become a jewelry designer when she gets older.

So, its interesting.Everything is fun but when you turn off the game it doesn't save it where you left off,i mean it doesn't show where to save it. If anybody knows where to save please reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Overall 4 stars.

My granddaughter received this game for Christmas- it is definitely NOT meant for a 5year old. WAY above her head. My 8 yr old did fine with it, but don't expect anyone younger without good reading skills to understand this game.

My 8 year old daughter has only played this a couple times. She said that it isn't as much fun as her other games.
