I was looking for a book with a good handle on vintage looks from different eras. this seemed to be just the ticket. It arrived today and I've read through the entire thing and it does have a good easily understood description of all of the eras. My only complaint is that they seriously toned down all the looks and made them more for modern everyday wear so you don't know what kinds of colors they really used in a lot of the decades unless you lived through them...i.e. the 80's looks for me. It's a great book and gave me a good base to work from I just wish they hadn't modernized and toned down the looks so much. I was hoping for something a little more authentic is all.

I had this book on my wish list and received it for Christmas. I really enjoy this book and have read it cover to cover a couple times. Has great pictures and takes you through what you need to do to achieve the look that you are going for. With this book I have perfected my cat eye. Good tricks and nothing overly complicated. Plus the book has a nice cover that really adds to the vintage feel.

Just got this for christmas, and while I haven't tried any of the looks out yet, I got a chance to sit down and look through it the other day, and it looks fantastic! Lots of great fun looks from every decade from the 20s-80s, and I like how descriptive they are in the technique and materials needed. Have great photos of the vintage look next to an example of a contemporary take on it, and has great tidbits on why general looks/colors were in for which period of time.

Very happy and inspired just looking through it, and I can't wait to try them all out!
