Humongous, Gigantic, Gargantuan, Collosal is Lil Louie's creative powers in mixing (live, no less) this 3 CD compilation.
Actually, only one is a mix with the other two unmixed but holding their own and then some.
When I first listened to it this afternoon--and I've had it on continuously for 8 hours now-- I thought, What the hell IZ the matter with this guy? Why can't he ever hit a sour note for a change? Why can't he leave me some room to think that his taste could slip every now and then? Why, oh, why must this guy SO GOOD all the time?!
Oh, friends, what justice can wormy, slowpoky words do when music travels at the speed of groove (faster than light)?
Listen to a sample--if not here then at a store near you.
Saints used to talk to animals, like St. Francis of Assisi, and
St. Cecelia is the canonic patron saint of music.
Lil Louie is the musical equivalent of St. Francis--he would make the birds and the beasts of the wild dance.
I think Lil Louie deserves beatification--"Santino" (Lil' Saint) Louie--for all the pleasure he has poured into the ears and souls of true-music lovers everywhere. Lil Louie's inimitable stamp of quality and taste is all over this comp. What a giant. I know he'll go to heaven someday.

MAW's Louie Vega is the "godfather of house." All three CDs are fantasic and is definitely a must-have for anybody out there that are deep house fans. One of my all time favorites from Louie Vega.

With three cd's crammed with the best disco/house-music you can track down out there, this easily competes wih the best compilations I've heard this year. Put your trust in MAW's "Little" Louie Vega. He knows his music, and as soon you drop one of the cd's (one mix-cd and two with selected full tracks, with names like Glasgow Underground, Simply Red and The Sunburst Band) you'll know that I'm right in awarding 'Mad Styles and Crazy Visions' the full five stars it deserves. For hot summer nights and chilly winter parties; A little expensive, this compilation, but what can you expect! It's made by a master at work!
