3.0 out of 5 stars Fun and challenging December 15, 2011

Overall a decent take on the Sudoku game. There are some simple UI improvements the developer can make to make out frustrating.
- There's no reason to have the letters in a seperate dialog when you have so much open space on the top and bottom.
-It should be select a field then tap a number from a list already visible. This would solve the frustration some reviewers are having with remembering the letters.
-there should be application options while in a game. Stuff like 'new game, 'restart', 'hint'.
- there should be an option to turn off haptic feedback. I personally find my phone vibrating on every tap to be distracting

The concept is great and a welcome challenge in a marketplace of brain-dead causal games but without more polish the game will remain mediocre.

2.0 out of 5 stars Different, but the user interface lacks December 24, 2011

I love sudoku, so when I saw Wordoku I thought a new and interesting twist on the classic game would be fun. After playing one game, however, I noticed some blaring UI deficiencies that made game play much harder than it should be. For instance, most sudoku games order their input field numbers, 1-9, but Wordoku presents the letters in a random order. This makes it very difficult to remember which letters are in the puzzle at play. Also, there is no color coding of letters, making it very difficult to quickly scan what letters are on the board already. These I feel are almost deal breakers for the game, as it takes me much longer to figure out what I have left on the board. I would also appreciate a game clock, as I like to compete against myself. One pro is that I am learning new words, but there is no embedded dictionary or option to look up the word from Wordoku. I would have also liked an option to turn of letting you know if a letter is correct (green) or not (red), this also takes a lot of fun out of the game.

I think this game could be great, but the user interface and input problems hold it down to two stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed but have one suggestion.... December 20, 2011

I live sudoku and I enjoyed this game as well. My only problem with this game is there is no scoring system. It might not seem important but personally I would have liked to recieve points based on how quickly I was able to find the hidden word.

4.0 out of 5 stars challenging but needs work December 18, 2011

challenging to wrap my head around as a numeric sudoku fan. Desperately needs more options: specifically a way to turn off the pseudo-haptic feedback vibrations. they're annoying and noisy for a bed time mindgame.

Not sure why the bad reviews. I really liked it. Works just like regular sudoku, but with a word to find.

3.0 out of 5 stars I like it, but it needs some UI improvement December 15, 2011

I think I like this better than Sudoku. It's more of a challenge having to remember random letters than knowing numbers 1-9.

That said, the UI has some serious issues. The select a letter box covers up the game board. I find that annoying. Because of that, I lowered my rating from a 4 to 3. There are plenty of really good sudoku games that are easier to control.

1.0 out of 5 stars terrible
Bad interface, programming and execution. Input method horrible, windows cannot be moved and sudoku puzzles have more than one answer.

2.0 out of 5 stars clunky
This game sounded great. I like word games and sudoku, so what's not to like, right? Wrong. This game looks dated, and the UI doesn't work for me. Read more

A different take on a well know game with a fairly decent challenge at times. Interface suffers from lackluster design. Selection box gets in the way.
