Book Description

Women-and men-of all ages are learning how to knit. Knitters, especially the new ones, enjoy easy-to-make projects that can be completed in a short time. Pets are equally popular in our modern society. Pet owners who often indulge their animals with special treats and accessories will like these easy and quick-to-make designer-quality dog sweaters. These projects can be completed in a weekend, an evening, while watching television, or during an airport layover. They are simple enough to be a first knitting project for a beginning knitter. Design variations and embellishments add the personal touch, and can make each design a more challenging project for an experience knitter.

Additionally, the small size of the projects in this book makes them ideal to tuck into a purse or tote bag, so that they can be worked on at odd moments during the day when the knitter finds a few free moments.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice dog knitting book. March 4, 2006
Format:Paperback
I just got this book in the mail today, and I can't wait to try a few patterns. Most of the patterns are for dog sweaters, but there are a few other nice things to knit, too. I would call myself an average knitter (I've been knitting for a long time, but I usually don't bother with very intricate or complicated knitting), and this book looks great for me. Other dog knitting books I have looked at have sweaters that look too complicated to be bothered with. That or they're making more dog patterns now that are too cutesy. This book has projects that are attractive, for the most part gender-neutral, and could be done in a weekend. If you're looking to knit something special for your four-legged best friend, I recommend this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed! January 7, 2007
By AngieC
Format:Paperback
I purchased this book based on the cover photo on your site---I especially wanted to make the little blue sweater with the panda bear and the darker blue one with the teddy bear on it. When I received the book it turns out that none of the sweaters in the photo you placed on the site are in the book! I cannot return it because there are no returns on pattern books! VERY DISAPPOINTING!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed August 17, 2007
By Cyndy
Format:Paperback
Some patterns are not accurate, looking at the picture. Page 48, the pattern is completely different than what is shown in the picture. I've been knitting for over 50 years, and this is the worst waste of $25.00 for a pattern book I have ever come across. I emailed the publisher, but have yet to hear back.

1.0 out of 5 stars Large dogs need not apply March 19, 2011
By Sascha
Format:Paperback
After hearing that this book contained patterns for small to large dogs I was eager to get my hands on it as I would love to knit something cute for my retriever mix. But apparently a 'large' dog to the authors is a 'beagle, basset hound, shetland sheepdog, welsh corgi, dachshund... dogs that weigh from twenty-five to forty pounds.' A Dachshund is a 'large' dog now? Really? Disappointing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed May 23, 2009
Format:Paperback
I purchased this book last year. I knitted one pattern and the size of it would have fitted a snake perfectly but not a dog. I then examined some of the other patterns and found the pattern was not the same as the picture. i.e. the cable patterns were totally incorrect. I gave up then. I have since thrown the book out, something I never do. Waste of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dogue and Knits: Holiday Gifts for the Entire Family December 11, 2006
Format:Paperback
This book is too funny!

I bought a book to make holiday gifts for friends... For the dogs in my life and their mamas! I have had so much fun with the project, that I just bought more books for friends to continue the tradition.

Thanks, Ilene, for adding another dimension to the love of animals!

Your first books made me laugh, and now your new book keeps me in stitches!

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
Pretty much all the same overly complex pattern with different stitch patterns. I found I was able to make up my own simpler design that fit the dog much better.
