Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

In Sub Rebellion, players are taken to the year 2139, a time when the earth’s tectonic plates have begun to shift, producing massive seismic activity. As most of the world’s land sinks into the sea, civilizations change forever. Survivors of this era adapt to the new conditions of life under and above the sea. By 2145 two factions have arisen: the Meluguis Empire and the Alliance Army. The Alliance, in a desperate attempt to turn the tide in the war, deploys the experimental Chronos attack submarine. Adrenaline-pumping action and adventure heat up as players move the Chronos sub at full speed around this postapocalyptic underwater world. Players explore up to 20 massive levels of undersea and sea-to-surface missions using phenomenal X-sonar, evasion technologies, and countermeasures to hunt down oncoming enemies including subs, helicopters, and ships, and to track secret power-ups, ancient artifacts, or buried treasures. Special treasures identified along the way provide hints about the ancient technology, the ability to develop new weapons, and additional sub features.

Staying one step ahead of the enemy is critical as the Chronos sub battles evil using guided nuclear, ultrasonic, and acoustic torpedoes for underwater overkill or surface-to-air missiles and short- and long-range weapons for above-the-sea mass destruction. A total of 10 different subs are featured in the game. As a unique offering, players can upgrade and modify their Chronos sub by finding bonus items along the way or by purchasing powerful new engines, shields, skins, and torpedoes. Among the many great new features in the game are a fantastic display of hyperrealistic water physics, lighting effects, and gorgeous 3-D animation.

4.0 out of 5 stars This game is pretty cool, October 28, 2002
This review is from: Sub Rebellion (Video Game)
I bought this game after seeing some of the screenshots and videogames.com At first the it seemed like this game was gonna be boring, but after the second mission this game was hella fun...I like how you can go above water and kill helicopters and big battle ships...the radar is really cool too...another cool thing i like about this game is how you can find buried artifacts to get money and then buy new upgrades for you ship...Im gonna try finding all the hidden artifats to beat the game 100%

I definitely recommend this game...its totally fun and not like the other boring games out there

5.0 out of 5 stars NEVER GETS OLD, May 28, 2004
This review is from: Sub Rebellion (Video Game)
This game is very very addicting. There is nothing else like it. How many Navy/water games have you seen?

This is one of my all-time FAVORITES now. My only complaint is that you can not see through the periscope. It is strictly an attack sub profile...shooting at other underwater targets. The few surface targets can only be attacked on the surface with rockets, NOT torpedos.

As long as you realize this is an attack sub scenario and that 90% of your targets are other submerged targets, you'll have a BLAST!! Also this has arcade type graphics. Don't be expecting true realism.

It will take a couple of minutes to figure out how to manever your submarine, but once you get your sea legs this game is a BLAST! I find that I really enjoying the underwater dogfights with other submarines, slower than air combat in simulation games but really engaging, you'll play this game for hours and hours at a time.

The back story isn't much, but it's easy to ignore. The enemies are challenging without being impossible to beat. Diving below 140 meters will cause hull damage to your submarine.

The graphics are pretty good. The gameplay is excellent, really absorbing, which is exactly what I wanted in a game like this one. Really a fun game, a favorite of mine.
