This review is from: Sub Rosa: The CIA and the Uses of Intelligence (Hardcover)
This non-fiction book will tell you more about the Cold War, especially Viet Nam, than you ever suspected. The author was the man in charge. The tone is matter of fact, but the subject matter is amazing. Everyone who remembers Viet Nam should read this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peer de silva, December 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book explains so much that went on in intelligence in its infancy. Being a graduate of West Point Mr de Silva went on to become station chief in Saigon. Much is explained here while with the new CIA. Its just to bad the author did not live to see the publishing of this book.
I highly recommend reading this book you will not be able to put it down.

I often wonder if the phoenix program was influenced by this man. We will never know.
