Set at a cracking pace, this book burns along.,

John Campbell has has written an exciting tale full of action and suspense. An isolated American base in the Pacific finds itself invaded by a ruthless enemy. Campbell's heros have character and stubborness, and the way the bad guys finally get theirs in the end is brilliant. I recommend this book to break up any boring day.

As one who currently lives and works on Kwajalein, the locations depicted in the book are right on the money. The plot keeps the action going until the very end. Recommended.

Good plot, but not enough submarine action.,

The main plot of the book is alright. It has much action and is a very original concept. The only problem I might have had with it is that a good portion of the book is devoted to land battle, more than is written about Submarine Warfare.
