I was introduced to Switched by their song "Inside". On their debut cd called Subject To Change they displayed massive riffage and very moody vocals. A lot of people will label them as Nu-Metal, but I don't believe in labels. I feel like I need to back up Switched becuz I believe they're going to be going places in the future. Stand out tracks to me were: "Inside", "Religion", "Anymore", and "Exterminate". But my all time fave out of the 4 is "Exterminate" that sounds rocks hard. Keeping your eye out for Switched in the future and don't close your mind off to newer music.

Switched...A band of the future,

This is an absolutely amazing band. I am very big into the metal scene, and I have never heard anyone quite like these guys. They have unbelievable guitarists, meaningful lyrics, and you can silence those *very* annoying critics (who say they do nothing but scream) with this band. The singer has an amazing voice, and this cd should be picked up as soon as possible. It is one of my favorite CD's, and it will be one of yours, too.

Ben's vocals make this album what it is. I hated the single these guys put out 'Inside' because it sounded like a rejected Creed song, but then a friend said "the rest of the album is so different" and so I picked it up and skipped to track two and was proved wrong. These guys FAR from suck...they are actually one of the coolest bands around. Ben has been described as the Jeckle/Hyde of nu-metal and thats so true. Just listen to 'Anymore'...his voice goes from screams to whispers to singing to whispers and then back to screams. It's brilliant. The best tracks here are the aformentioned 'Anymore', '10 Dead Fingers' and 'Exterminate'...'Wrongside' has a great opening and the closing track 'Darkening Days' gets you ready for their sophmore album...which is out now and I have yet to buy...can't believe that...so I'm going to have to buy it today! Anyways, the entire album is great, except for 'Inside' and it's really weird but theres a hidden track at the end of 'Darkening Days' but it's just 'Inside'...exactly the same track as the opener so it's strange they'd do that. ANyways...buy this, you'll love it. Any fan of Disturbed and bands alike will love this.

A trip through the spiraling energy of Switched's music will change your outlook on music. Through their combination of tonal harmony and sheer power, Switched has continually sparked the adrenaline in me everytime I listen to their album "Subject to Change." Songs like 10 Dead Fingers, Skin, and Exterminate have amazed me. They just know how to formulate powerful music. Check it out if you're looking for the Robert Wagner of heavy metal.

At one time, I was pretty much a sucker for all nu metal that was kinda underground and wasn't out for the money. Now, I find myself listening to few bands, such as Fear Factory, Type O Negative, and Machine Head. I've pretty much abandoned all the other guys. So why does switched fit in? Because they pull off emotion in great variety and it's not simply sounds battering your ears. Along with these guys I definitely recommend From Zero, who can be compared to these guys except more on the melodic side.

So this is what happened to jason beiler (for the uninformed- the genius behind saigon kick (rip). I picked this album up purely because i saw that jason was in the producers chair (i know.. really sad!). I thought that if he's associated with switched, then they must be good !!.. and the answer is... yes they are good.. but the potential is there for the band to be GREAT!.. The first 5 songs are brilliant, but as it goes on the record goes a bit generic.. theres flashes of brilliance in the tracks.. but, and i hate to say this.. they sort of turn into KORN... (and as much as i like Korn, what I hear in the first 5 tracks on this CD is much more refreshing). The vocals are great early on, and the melodies and harmonies.. and the band can still crush whilst sounding like SWITCHED and noone else... Which has got to be good ! the record is a solid base to start from and the next record (if they get a chance could be a KILLER). But as much as i like the production... can you get to putting out some of your own music please Jason ?

These people on here are saying this band is weak! I don't know what more they could want. This album is comprised of heavy moshing songs to softer but not weak songs you can just sit back and jam to. I'm not saying you should listen to me, all i'm saying is the people on here are not telling you what the cd is really like. There are at least 5 or 6 songs on here that these guys could play at ozzfest and no one would care, they would just go wild. The day I received this cd, I popped it in and was fu**ing blown away! These guys are so talented and it is a shame I haven't heard of them before now. All I'm trying to say is these reviews that are negative do not tell you what this cd is and that is a heavy/melodic great cd to mosh to. Go and buy it if you like heavier nu metal cuz these guys hang with the best of them my friends! Check it out for yourselves.

I first heard of Switched through their song "10 Dead Fingers" on the Music Channel. I liked it a lot but I didn't think too much of the band itself at the time till I heard "Spread" (which by the the way is a non-track album, its on their EP, now out of print). So I decided what the hell, I'll make the cd. I was definitely pleased with this cd, it rocks all the way through. The only "soft" song, if anything, is "Walk Away," but it gets heavier towards the end, and thats the Switched we all (now) know and love. Besides the songs I mentioned there is also "Four Walls," which has an amazing metal riff (so does "Last Chance" by the way) and their single w/ video "Inside." All of the songs on here rule, and if you have horrible taste in music then you won't like this band, period. They are nu-metal, but they add a different sort of element to the genre, and where nu-metal is concerned, that is needed many times.

This CD is the perfect car stereo CD. No "skip-song" tracks. They're all passionate and diverse. "Anymore" is a personal favorite. Perfect balance of emotion-filled singing and scream-growling for satisfying headbanging release. And none of the monotonous evil cookie monster growling. If you like Flaw, Mudvayne or Disturbed, check this CD out.-Muddytygress

I have been into Sw1tched since summer 2002 when I saw "Inside" on MTV2's "Extreme Rock" show, but for some reason, I didn't get the album until recently. What a mistake. I had heard a few songs off of this before, including "Four Walls", "Exterminate", and the aforementioned "Inside". After hearing the rest of the album, I must say that "Subject to Change" is one of the best metal albums ever. "Inside" is a bit different from the other songs, but still a good song. "Four Walls" was a song that within the first few seconds I knew was going to be one of my favorites. "Walk Away" is definately single material, but it's the kind of single that will make you crank up your radio too loud and floor the gas pedal on your car while you headbang. "Religion" is another stand out, and the jam at the end of the song is cool. "10 Dead Fingers" was the perfect song to put after "Religion", because after the quietness at the end of that song, Ben's scream of "10, DEAD, FINGERRRRRS!!", jolts the listener back to reality and into a very awesome song. Next in line is "Reflections", and I must say, other than "Walk Away" and "Wrongside", "Reflections" is my favorite song on the album. Next is "Anymore", which is also included as an enhanced cd live song along with "10 Dead Fingers", which they pull off live very well. There is only one word to describe "Anymore": HEAVY. This song is the very definition of the word "Heavy". Up next is "Skins", which sort of sounds like another good band, 6gig. Next is "Wrongside", one of my favorites on the album. It sort of sounds like what Korn would sound like covering the Foo Fighter's song "Everlong", which is a good thing. Next is "Last Chance", which is sort of passable, but it is still a good song. After that is "Exterminate", which is also one of the best songs on the album, mainly due to it's unrelenting heaviness. Last, but definately not least, is "Darkening Days", which has a guitar riff that sounds like the riff to Korn's "No Place to Hide" with different pacing, which isn't neccicarily a bad thing. It's sort of short for being the last song, since most nu-metal band's ending songs are at least 7 or 8 minutes long. And with that song, the album ends. It is an awesome album, and anyone who says they like metal should buy it.
