There are a lot of 5-star ratings thrown about here, but this one has one something going for it above many others of this genre - I want to hear this one every day. For me, the standout tracks are 03 - Passing Time(Duet with Kenny Barron, 05 - Lullaby(Duet with Mulgrew Miller) and 09 - Alpha(Duet with Mulgrew Miller). These are for simple listening pleasure. I really didn't know these artists before I heard Passing Time on a local jazz station, but this is outstanding stuff. Give it a try.

Disappointed,
This review is from: Sublime: Honoring the Music of Hank Jones (Audio CD)
I had never heard of Geoffrey Keezer until I heard his jazzy rendition of a Christmas novelty song and it was great. Naturally, as a fan of jazz, especially jazz piano, I took a chance on Sublime. I was most disappointed. I can't speak to specifics about style, talent, interpretation, etc. I only know what I heard was vastly different from what I had heard and expected. It had no *feeling* is the only way I can express it. I suppose that comes from having to order music without the advantage of listening to it first so it might have been my misfortune to have chosen the worst of the lot. However , on the strength of that I have to cross Geoff Keezer off my list.
