Think of this as Command and Conquer underwater! This game predicts how undersea empires would wage war over a century in the future. If you long for the days of the 1990's when you played C&C and all it's sequels, and you still have a working Windows 98 machine sitting around (like I do, thankfully) then by all means spend a buck or two and get this game! Sure it looks like it was done a few years ago, but the implementation is beautiful. The sea floors are very textured with lots of precisely rendered and colorful little sea critters swimming by as you build your base and your subs and try to complete your mission. The various units and technologies are very imaginative. There's a lot of very cool units with big, interesting tech trees to work your way through. The missions are challenging but not infuriatingly difficult or mindlessly easy. There are cut scenes between missions, and you can play through three campaigns: one for each race (or group) represented in the game. This game is as much art as programming and was obviously a lot of work for a lot of people. I don't know why it didn't become one of the most well known RTS games of its time. Oh yeah, I've played this game through several skirmish missions and I'm six episodes into a campaign and it hasn't crashed yet! The game is totally reliable from a technical point of view. So, spend a buck or two for a used copy and give it a try. Once you start, you might not come up for air for a long time!

Just a fun game,

This game came to me as a throw in in some other game I bought, and to tell you the truth, I can't even remember what game that was. When I moved to an XP machine I moved this also and it has worked fine. Now, many years later I still play it for a few weeks at a time.

Better Than Starcraft?,

While I still enjoy Starcraft, this game, Submarine Titians is a up to 8 player RTS that came out the same time and was sadly overlooked. Submarine Titians has many more options and settings than Starcraft does and also has a map editor.Once installed no disk is needed to play (all from Hard Drive) and it supports 1024 x 768 where Starcraft is only 640 x 480. Unlimited units and a user setting for self repair (Subs try to return during a battle to a repair) ability make this pretty cool. You can have your subs stay until the end too and not try and return for repair. You can also team up with the computer players AI to play any variation of teams plus set the computer player AI level among many other settings in the game. The learning curve is not much more than Starcraft and there is some interesting tech in the tree including Nukes foe the White Sharks. This game is worthy of a reprint along with Vampire Bloodlines, a really good FPS/RPG running on the Halflife 2 engine. I run this game under XP with no problems, can not say if it works under Millennium II, I mean Vista.

Submarine Titans,

This game is a classic. It has beautiful artwork which could easily be made into a screensaver. My only complaint is that a sequel was never made. It would be awesome if it were ported to run natively on Vista or 7. This is a game kept in my collection as a reminder of fun RTS at its best.

A really great, classic RTS game set under the sea. I've never quite found another game like it with such distinctive "races" if you will. Love playing as the Silicons!Anyway, I played this game a long time ago when it first came out but then lost it. Recently came across a working copy of it and installed it on an old XP laptop and it works beautifully! Now I play it as often as I can...which is quite often :) Agree with one of the reviewers, once you defeat the initial enemy rush, then it's not as bad thereafter.

3 races = 3 times the fun. What strategy will you choose. Offence, Defence, Expansionism, or combination. Game is well balanced if you know how to play. You can fend of any rush attack if you play defensively in the beginning And when you defeated your opponents rush they are usually weaker and you can take them out. More exciting when you get to the Weopons of mass destruction stage. Nuclear Missiles, Laser Bombs, and my personal Favourite. Vacuume Bombs.

This game is cool. I expesialy like playing multiplayer over LAN. If you are thinking of geting any stragety game you should first dounload the demo of this game. That is how I learned about the game and now I have it. It has three side that unlike in some games and very different.
