Terrific book for subs!,

This truly is a comprehensive resource for substitute teachers! I've been subbing for years and this book inspired me to buy a three-ring-binder and really get organized. It has lots of useful pages to copy, ideas for the classroom, tips, pages to photocopy for recordkeeping and activities, and motivational ideas. The pages are also perforated and hole-punched for immediate usefulness. The book is really well-done and useful for new subs as well as experienced ones. I highly recommend it.

Great Organizer!,

I am going to be substitute teaching this year and have read many books on the subject. This book was helpful because it has many reproducible forms and worksheets. The book is used to create a Substitute Teacher Binder. You need to buy a binder, four sets of five tab dividers, and plastic sheet protectors. Then, you tear out all of the pages of the book and organize them in the binder. The book includes labels to organize the material. It took some time to create the binder (it wasn't fun tearing out all of the pages). However, I think it will be useful. I plan to add other ideas to the binder over time. It doesn't have a lot of information on HOW to substitute teach. It gives you a lot of information on HOW to make substitute teaching easier. If you don't have some background in education, I recommend that you read other books as well!

I am subbing this year for the first time after graduating with teacher certification. I tend to be organized to the point of obsession and I was really looking for something to help me keep track of my various teaching assignments, plus house quick and easy ideas to use in the classroom when we have spare time.
This book is by far the BEST deal I have found for substitute teachers. Too many "sub kit" style books assume that you have no idea how to teach at all and the content is wasted on people like me who have been through a teacher training program. This organizer, however, does not do those things. You get practical, insightful and helpful resources to make your subbing assignments more productive. The reproducible sheets for leaving notes to the teacher and keeping track of the jobs are WONDERFUL. I've even had classroom teacher's compliment me on my organization when they see my binder! It is definitely worth the price and the time it takes to put the organizer together.

This makes my second year as a substitute teacher, and I would be lost without this organizer. I would highly recommend it to all of those who are contemplating becoming a substitute teacher, or for those of you who are but don't know about this wonderful organizer.

The creator of this book thought of everything that the substitute teacher needs for her bag of tricks. I purchased this last year. I am a full time substitute. I have gotten so many compliments on how organized I am because of this book. It gave me a lot of excellent tips that are time savers that I even as a seasoned substitute never thought of. I love it. It offered me so much. Honestly, I cannot say that I walked away feeling that there was nothing that I could not use in the book. I was able to convert some of the items presented in the book and make them a reality. Thanks for making the book!!!If I could give ten stars I would!!!!

Not quite "every" teaching assignment will be enhanced, but this book is worth every penny. The Teacher Tips and a few forms are definetly geared toward elementary school, but I just made my own for middle and high school. The five-minute fillers have come in handy. I used the logic riddles the first day I substituted. If you are going to substitute teach you should have this book or something similar.

This is a good book for substitute teachers but a better and more comprehensive one for the money is Substitute Teacher Handbook.

Whether you are a new or experienced Substitute Teacher, this book has excellent ideas. It helps organize your information on the schools you sub with, lesson plans, what to do in the event there are no lesson plans, it's an excellent book.

This is such a great organizer! I think it's better for someone who's been subbing for a little while, because it doesn't really tell you how, but it gives you tools to make it eaiser. I made copies of many of the sections, and I find the passes, and the bright ideas, and the list of kids leaving class are something that come in handy. Also it gives activites for those time when you have a few minutes to fill, and this has saved me in every grade I've subbed in. This is worth your money if you plan on subbing for more than a few times.
