Product specifications on Amazon state that it is 1000W element, but it is actually 1440W just as Suburban states the original was. This confused me a little when shopping, but the part number matched, that's why I purchased. Was pleased that it was actually the 1440W. Amazon price and easy ordering made this a snap. Just beware, you will need a 1-1/2" socket to change the heating element out. And most general socket sets don't go much over 1-1/8". Good if you know a farmer or mechanic...they usually have one you can borrow like I did.

This is an authentic Suburban water heater element. And it does show on the base 1440W. See the picture I added. I installed mine with no problems. Connected the wires and filled the tank. No leaks!

It needs a 1.5 inch socket which I bought at Lowes for $7. Don't buy a deep well socket because (based on your heater) it might no clear the gas plenum.

this product does says only 1000, but def works with a 1440 watts just like description says, had in a month works awesome, maybe in faster than last one, well worth the little money or to even have extra one on hand. u def have to have a inch in half to get out. ten min change out, didnt even drain water just took it out let water come out that a way.

Just the right thing. Replacement was easy. Remove the old one and insert the new one. About as simple as changing a light bulb.

As others have stated this is the 1440W element and not a 1000W as stated in the description.

Items installs nice and easy. Be sure and turn off the power to water heater before installing.

My Suburban is made in such a way that the gas plenum needs to be removed to access the electric element. This can be removed by taking out or loosening just a few screws and nuts. I used a 1 1/2 inch socket and ratchet to remove the old element and install the new. Some recommend draining the tank first. This really isn't necessary. You will have some water come out but not much if you are quick. If accessible you can place a towel where water might drip into your coach. Remember to turn off the water supply and open a hot water tap inside the coach to relieve pressure in the tank. After installing the element I replaced the gas plenum, used soapy water to check for gas leaks at the joint. Very easy replacement.

Element heated water up fast and hot!

Recommended.

I installed this in a motorhome water heater. I used some penetrating oil on the old one just in case and it came out easily with the Camco heater element wrench. I then installed the new one, filled the tank, and it started up and works just like new.

This a genuine replacement part for a Suburban water heater. The original electric heating element in our travel trailer lasted 6 years then suddenly stopped working. Quick testing with a multimeter confirmed it had high resistance. Ordered this using Amazon's Prime and 2 days later it was installed in our water heater and we were back in business.
